Corporate wellness that employees actually look forward to: how SmartRent built a successful wellness program with Shanti Sound.

Corporate wellness that employees actually look forward to: how SmartRent built a successful wellness program with Shanti Sound. Employee wellness has evolved far beyond gym memberships and occasional lunches. Today's most successful companies understand that supporting employee well-being means creating opportunities for teams to recharge, connect, and return to work feeling energized. For SmartRent, that journey started with a single sound bath. What began as a one-time event during Mental Health Awareness Month quickly became one of the company's most requested wellness offerings. The positive response helped inspire the growth of SmartRent's broader corporate wellness program and demonstrated the impact that intentional wellness experiences can have on employees. Shanti Sound AZ sat down with Catie from SmartRent to learn how it all came together - and why that first sound bath became the catalyst for a wellness program that continues to prioritize employee well-being. Building a wellness program that employees value. Like many growing organizations, SmartRent wanted to create opportunities that supported both employee well-being and company culture. "SmartRent created a company wellness program to promote healthy work-life balance, ensure team members feel valued, and to have additional opportunities for our team members to get together and connect organically." The company's first experience with Shanti Sound wasn't part of a long-term strategy. It was simply an opportunity to try something new. As Catie shared, the response from employees exceeded expectations and helped shape what their wellness program would become. "We initially just began with hosting a Sound Bath once, and it was such a hit with our team members. The growth of the program itself was very natural as our team members were looking for more events that promoted well-being." Sometimes all it takes is one meaningful experience to reveal what your team has been craving. Why Sound Baths work in the workplace. Modern workplaces move fast. Meetings, deadlines, constant notifications, and everyday stress can leave employees mentally exhausted long before the workday ends. Corporate sound baths provide something that's often missing: intentional time to pause. Participants simply arrive, get comfortable, and allow therapeutic sound frequencies to guide them into deep relaxation. There are no skills to learn, no physical fitness requirements, and no pressure to "do it right." For many employees, it's one of the first opportunities they've had all week to truly disconnect from stress. The result is an experience that promotes relaxation, supports mental clarity, reduces feelings of stress, and helps employees return to work feeling more grounded and refreshed. An easy wellness event to coordinate. One of the biggest concerns companies have when planning employee wellness events is logistics. According to Catie, working with Shanti Sound couldn't have been simpler. "In a word, easy. In two words, easy and rewarding." "Cary is fantastic to work with and makes hosting sound baths on-site simple. She brings all the equipment she needs for the sound bath and provides information on what our team members should expect and bring." Rather than adding another complicated event to the calendar, SmartRent simply coordinated the date and time. "With Cary, I just need to coordinate the event date and time and she takes care of the rest." Whether hosted in your office, at an off-site retreat, or in the peaceful environment of the Shanti Sound studio, every detail is designed to make planning effortless for your team. A wellness investment that may be covered. One unexpected benefit came after SmartRent had already established its wellness program. "Initially, we paid for the sound baths through our employee experience budget. However, in 2025 we found out our insurance provider offers reimbursements for wellness events." Their insurance provider recognized sound baths as an approved wellness activity because participants will experience healing, relieve feelings of stress, and reduce pain levels. "Now that we know our wellness events are reimbursed by our insurance provider, we've been able to host a wider variety of events and it all came about because of Cary and Shanti Sound." While every insurance plan is different, it's worth checking with your benefits provider to see whether corporate wellness programming may qualify for reimbursement. Advice for companies considering a wellness program. For organizations wondering where to begin, Catie's advice is refreshingly simple. "I would say to try it and see what the team says - that's what we did." What started as a single sound bath helped spark a broader wellness program because employees embraced the opportunity to prioritize their well-being. "Our team is invested in their wellness and hosting these types of events shows that we care about our team members' well-being as well." She also highlights one of Shanti Sound's biggest advantages: flexibility. "Shanti Sound is an excellent start as Cary is able to come on-site or you can go to her studio, making the planning of the events easy and quick. Sound Baths, and also offering a variety of wellness options, is what makes our program so successful." Invest in your team's well-being. Supporting employee wellness doesn't have to be complicated. Whether you're planning a Mental Health Awareness Month event, a quarterly team-building experience, a leadership retreat, or simply looking for a meaningful way to invest in your employees, a corporate sound bath offers an opportunity to reduce stress, strengthen workplace culture, and create genuine connection. At Shanti Sound, Shanti Sound AZ partner with organizations of all sizes to create customized corporate wellness experiences. Sessions can be hosted at your workplace, an off-site event, conference, or at its Scottsdale studio, making it easy to bring moments of calm into even the busiest work environments. Whether you're introducing wellness to your team for the first time or enhancing an existing employee wellness program, a corporate sound bath can make a lasting impression. Shanti Sound AZ'd love to help you create an experience your team will remember.
