  • An active or reinstatable Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance with polygraph is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Eight years of professional or educational experience and a Bachelor of Science degree, or four additional years of experience in place of a Bachelor of Science degree.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Deep systems engineering expertise building, troubleshooting, and rebuilding complex enterprise infrastructure, understanding legacy environments, and designing pragmatic migration paths that maintain operations during transformation.
  • Production Amazon Web Services and cloud architecture experience, including architecting and deploying production cloud solutions, understanding cloud economics and trade-offs, and navigating virtual private cloud design, storage tiers, compute options, and security controls.
  • Infrastructure modernization experience, including leading technical transformations, prioritizing competing demands, building return-on-investment models, and applying incremental migration practices.
  • Technical communication and stakeholder management skills, including translating between cloud consultants, mission developers, security teams, and executives; building consensus; documenting architectural decisions; and advocating for solutions clearly.
  • Understanding of agency-specific cloud migration requirements, including Authority to Operate and the WANDS environment.
Responsibilities
  • Lead cloud architecture strategy by designing the technical roadmap and reusable patterns that enable teams to leverage cloud solutions where appropriate.
  • Develop high-return pilot programs, reusable templates, and common resources while preserving flexibility for organizations to manage on-premises infrastructure when mission demands require it.
  • Architect end-to-end solutions for complex Cyber Network Exploitation services, including moving high-capacity services to cloud storage, creating integration patterns between legacy systems and cloud-native services, and maintaining security controls while improving performance and scalability.
  • Conduct technical assessments of existing infrastructure, document dependencies, evaluate utility, and build prioritization frameworks based on end-of-life dates, mission impact, cost efficiency, and user pain points.
  • Partner with cloud professional services and mission stakeholders, including Amazon Web Services Professional Services teams, to scope engagements, validate architectures, and ensure cloud solutions meet Cyber Network Exploitation development, testing, and collaboration requirements.
  • Design modernized workflows and user experiences for Cyber Network Exploitation developers, including unified single sign-on across disparate clients and solutions for large-scale datasets.
  • Create a development environment that attracts and retains software development talent at the agency.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in Cyber Network Operations spaces or similar high-side environments.
  • Experience in Cyber Network Operations development.
  • Experience working in restricted enclave environments and understanding how their constraints, processes, and security controls affect architecture decisions.
  • Expertise in cost optimization, including right-sizing cloud resources, building FinOps practices, and evaluating when cloud implementations save money versus when managed-service costs increase.
