Yoga for Kids Instructor
About the job
- At least 2 years of previous experience working with children, such as academic or athletic tutoring, camp counseling, or youth volunteering.
- At least 1 year of yoga teaching or group fitness instructor experience; the posting also states 1–5 years minimum.
- Knowledge of yoga practice, breathing techniques, and relaxation methods.
- A Child Abuse Clearance and criminal background checks are required.
- A certified yoga instructor credential is preferred, but not required.
- Be willing to travel.
- Be in good physical condition to demonstrate yoga poses and safe movement techniques and respond to emergencies that may require running and climbing stairs.
- Supervise students and lead age-appropriate yoga instruction while providing a safe and calming environment and serving as a positive role model.
- Create and implement daily yoga sessions tailored to students ages 4 to 18 with varying ability levels.
- Teach fundamental yoga postures, breathing techniques, and mindfulness practices to promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
- Supervise groups of students, addressing behavior and group management, health and safety, security, and personal and skill development.
- Ensure the safety of students and team members.
- Organize and prepare daily plans in a fun, creative, and engaging manner.
- Use classroom management skills to lead the activity and create an inclusive and encouraging environment.
- Work effectively with fellow Activity Specialists and collaborate on daily responsibilities.
- Follow the Impact Kids Code of Conduct, maintain the Impact Kids look, exhibit Impact Kids Core Values, and adhere to company policies.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
