Thomson Reuters and Suralink partner to connect client collaboration with ai-powered audit workflows. New integrations will help firms move seamlessly from client requests to engagement execution and AI-powered analysis TORONTO, September 15 - Thomson Reuters (TSX/Nasdaq: TRI), a global content and technology company, and Suralink, the agentic platform for accounting firms and their clients, today announced a partnership to integrate Suralink with Thomson Reuters CoCounsel Tax, Audit & Accounting and Engagement Manager. The new integrations are designed to help audit firms connect client collaboration, engagement management, and AI-powered workflows in a more seamless experience, reducing friction between systems and enabling audit professionals to move from client requests to analysis and execution with greater speed and confidence. As firms increasingly adopt AI and agentic technologies, disconnected workflows remain a significant challenge. Critical client information is often exchanged in one system, managed in another, and analyzed in a third, creating manual handoffs, duplicated effort, and lost context. Thomson Reuters and Suralink are working to eliminate those barriers by creating a more connected flow of information across the audit lifecycle. The partnership supports Thomson Reuters broader strategy to build a connected professional ecosystem that combines trusted content, workflow technology, and AI with leading platforms firms already rely on every day. The goal is to help firms operate from a connected platform rather than a collection of disconnected tools. Suralink is used by 800,000 users globally and serves 60% of the top 200 accounting firms. Thomson Reuters customers have increasingly requested deeper connectivity between Suralink and the platforms their teams use to manage engagements, analyze information, and deliver client work. Through the planned integration with Engagement Manager, Suralink's client collaboration and document exchange will be supported directly within Thomson Reuters workflow and binder environments. A separate integration with CoCounsel Tax, Audit & Accounting will bring client-provided information into AI-powered workflows, letting audit professionals use Suralink-collected data without manually moving documents, connecting client collaboration to analysis and engagement. "This partnership reflects where we see the future of tax and audit heading: a connected ecosystem where the tools professionals already trust for client collaboration, engagement management and AI-powered analysis work together, instead of in isolation," said David Ragones, Head of Product - Direct Tax & Audit, Thomson Reuters. "Bringing Suralink into CoCounsel Tax, Audit & Accounting and Engagement Manager is one important step in that direction, but it's really about a larger commitment we're making across CoCounsel, where every integration, every workflow, every agent we build is designed to give firms a connected platform they can run their entire practice on, not just a faster way to do one task." "AI is only as effective as the information available to it," said Evan Fitzpatrick, CEO, Suralink. "Suralink has become the trusted environment where firms and clients securely collaborate and exchange information, and this partnership extends the value of that information into engagement and AI-powered workflows. Together with Thomson Reuters, we're helping firms unlock more value from their data and create a more connected experience across the accounting lifecycle." Thomson Reuters will continue to expand integrations with leading workflow solutions across audit, tax and advisory as part of its broader connected ecosystem strategy. About Thomson Reuters. Medius has integrated Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE indirect tax determination into its accounts payable automation platform, enabling businesses to verify US sales and use tax on invoices before they post to ERP systems. The integration automatically recalculates vendor-charged tax against Thomson Reuters' determination engine, flagging overcharges and undercharges during the approval workflow. The solution addresses challenges finance teams face across thousands of US tax jurisdictions, where incorrect vendor-charged tax can lead to overpayment or missed use-tax obligations. Each invoice is verified line by line and jurisdiction by jurisdiction against current tax rates. The tax integration forms part of a broader partnership between Medius and Thomson Reuters that includes e-invoicing and compliance through ONESOURCE Pagero. The companies have nearly 200 mutual customers since partnering in 2021. Medius plans additional tax-engine partner integrations following this initial Thomson Reuters launch.
