With AMA, you don’t need to chase leads to get students. We’ll take care of all the marketing and outreach, helping connect you with our vast pool of aspiring student drivers. Plus, we have Alberta's first student self-scheduling system. You input your available hours, and your students book their own lessons based on your availability. With more than 10,000+ new and experienced drivers booking sessions with us annually, we’ll keep you as busy as you’d like to be all year long!

THE PERKS

COMPENSATION – A rewarding career where your earning potential matches your ambition.

• A competitive hourly starting rate of $35.00 (in-vehicle instruction time), with the potential to increase earnings up to an additional $7.00 per hour from bonuses.
• Additional $1.00 per hour with the use of a Luxury or Hybrid vehicle (Luxury vehicle as defined by J.D Power & Associates).
• A $2,500 Signing Bonus: $1,000 upon hiring and $1,500 upon successful completion of first instructor evaluation (completed by AMA Senior Instructor, within 3 months).
• A fuel subsidy paid as an additional hourly amount on top of your hourly rate (This rate fluctuates based on fuel prices).

WHAT YOU’LL DO AS AN INSTRUCTOR:

• Report to the Field Manager, Driver Education.
• Provide quality vehicle instruction to students, following AMA’s instruction requirements and customer service standards.
• Provide constructive feedback on student drivers’ abilities, helping them develop the confidence and skills necessary to become licensed, safe drivers for life.
• Be responsible for student scheduling and submission of daily paperwork.
• Follow Alberta Transportation guidelines and policies for driving instructors.
• Be available after school, evenings and weekends, to meet students' scheduling needs.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:

• You have your Provincial Vehicle Instructor licence from Alberta Transportation.
• You can provide a current driver abstract.
• You own a vehicle that is no more than six years old.
• You’re available for full-time hours: Only candidates with full availability (no part-time) will be considered.
• Please note – being incorporated will be required upon hire and obtaining a WCB number will be required upon completion of training.
