What believers are saying

  • June 2026 positioning matches federal momentum for autonomous systems and post-quantum infrastructure.
  • August 2026 hiring across engineering and operations shows active product expansion, not dormancy.
  • Mission-critical infrastructure for drones and ships creates sticky revenue and high switching costs.

What critics are saying

  • July 2026 postings show post-seed status, so execution depends on continued capital.
  • Austin, on-site hardware hiring signals manufacturing and facilities bottlenecks if demand outpaces buildout.
  • Defense-infrastructure dependence risks customer concentration and procurement delays from one program slip.

What makes First Order Effects unique

  • 2026 website: FOE builds sovereign-scale infrastructure for U.S. and allies.
  • August 2026 jobs: FOE ships deployable power, ports, and communications for autonomous systems.
  • Team recruits from SpaceX, Anduril, Saronic, Lockheed Skunk Works, and Forterra.
