We’re actively seeking a talented Accounting Consultant to join our Real Estate Equity Accounting Team in Newport Beach, CA.
This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office. You’ll work at least 2 days in our state-of-the-art Newport Beach headquarters.
As an Accounting Consultant you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by performing and providing complex financial analyses, assisting with transactional analysis and support, and performing ad-hoc requests related to real estate equity investments. You will also be well versed in real estate investments and Yardi, being primarily responsible for Yardi system maintenance and related Yardi projects and enhancements, to further support functional strategy across the organization.
How you’ll help move us forward:
Working as an independent contributor and filling a new role that is part of a team of 8 people in the Real Estate Equity accounting group, within the Corporate division of Pacific Life. Your colleagues will include Staff Accountants, Senior Accountants, Directors of Accounting, our Pacific Life Investments real estate equity acquisition and asset management teams, among others. This role directly supports the Director of Accounting for the Real Estate Equity accounting team. This role also works with our external auditors, and other departments within Pacific Life, including financial reporting, tax, FP&A and other accounting teams.
Operations Responsibilities
Property set up/maintenance in Yardi on an ad-hoc basis
Other Yardi Maintenance including Performance Manager design/setup and Voyager attributes
Be a Yardi SME and lead Yardi related projects on an ad hoc basis
Responsible for uploading budgets and maintaining mapping files within Yardi Voyager
Accounting/Reporting Responsibilities
Ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with GAAP and STAT
Preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, management reports, and financial statements.
Assist with and review annual audit related items
Perform annual impairment analysis on the real estate investment portfolio
Assist Director with ad hoc decision support analysis for the Pacific Life Investments team
Leadership/Teamwork Responsibilities

The experience you bring:
10+ years of relevant accounting experience and a 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
Experience with Yardi or equivalent software solution, particularly the Investment Management module.
Real Estate Industry experience, particularly investment accounting or property management accounting.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
Strong Communication Skills

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
$144,630.00 - $176,770.00
