Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in a related business or scientific discipline and at least six years of sales or key account management experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certified Medical Representative certification and a clean record of violations of local pharmaceutical codes and guidelines.
- A proven record of exceeding sales targets and successfully growing and managing a territory in prior roles.
- Ability to analyze complex technical data and develop strategic, actionable business plans.
- Previous selling experience in specialized clinics, hospitals, and academic centers, including the ability to perform complete account selling.
- Hands-on experience interacting with third parties, including selling a high-cost product that may require extensive coordination with patient access services.
- Understanding of the region's regulatory and reimbursement requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly in verbal and written communications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with internal and external team members.
- Analytical problem-solving ability and capacity to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Planning, organization, and time-management skills, including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory, including occasional nights and weekends, and as necessary.
- Fluency in spoken and written Japanese in the assigned territory; basic English reading skills, or good knowledge of English if different.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Responsibilities
- Establish, develop, and maintain business partnerships with targeted healthcare providers and staff within the assigned territory; increase awareness through appropriate scientific information and education programs; develop and execute an integrated, territory-specific action plan across relevant communication channels; and achieve territory and sales goals and assigned product sales and patient objectives monthly, quarterly, or yearly.
- Build consultative, solution-oriented customer partnerships by meeting regularly with targeted healthcare providers and staff to understand and discuss how PTC products can meet identified needs.
- Identify key treatment and referral centers and facilitate collaboration between centers and stakeholders to optimize patient care.
- Drive patient identification initiatives.
- Establish, manage, and maintain successful relationships with relevant health authorities, key opinion leaders, and healthcare providers.
- Identify and resolve product access and reimbursement issues.
- Train and assist healthcare providers and other hospital staff in the indicated use of the product.
- Communicate information on drug effects, side effects, and contraindications or risks within proper timelines, and notify the Pharmacovigilance Department; maintain current and comprehensive clinical and pharmacoeconomic knowledge of the product and treatment area.
- Conduct Early Post-Marketing Phase Vigilance and Post-Marketing Surveillance with targeted accounts as necessary.
- Collaborate with commercial and scientific colleagues to share best practices and create opportunities to drive the commercial business.
- Perform other tasks and assignments as specified by management.
