About the job

Requirements
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a similar field.
  • Comfortable working with basic mechanical and electrical components, troubleshooting independently, and taking ownership of hands-on laboratory work.
  • Strong fundamentals and problem-solving intuition in one or more of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, reaction kinetics, or phase equilibria.
  • Must be available to start between October 2026 and January 2027 and work on-site in Mountain View, California.
  • Able to stay organized, attend to detail, and follow through.
  • Able to communicate clearly and work well on small, collaborative teams.
Responsibilities
  • Support the design and validation of the commercial product.
  • Contribute to the design of a regenerative drying and purification system for efficient, continuous production of high-purity hydrogen.
  • Work with an R&D engineer to characterize thermal and separation processes, develop control systems, and optimize operating parameters for reliability and cost constraints.
  • Oversee an experimental test station as the directly responsible individual and develop a data analysis framework to provide insights into long-term physicochemical phenomena.
  • Work with vendors as needed to design and develop custom components.

About the company

Fourier Earth provides engineering services and scalable clean energy solutions for governments, large corporations, and sustainability-focused organizations to shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy. It develops practical energy technologies and deploys them at scale through consulting, project delivery, and licensing of its proprietary technologies. It differentiates itself with hands-on, large-scale implementation and direct work with governments and major organizations, moving from planning to full deployment and licensing rather than focusing on small pilots. Its goal is to enable a global transition to affordable, distributable clean energy that reduces carbon footprints and benefits society.

What believers are saying

  • June 2026 Gujarat pilot with Payal Industrial Park expands international commercial credibility.
  • LinkedIn postings in 2026 show hiring across manufacturing, process, and thermal systems.
  • Fourier is moving from stealth to commercial validation with pilots across chemicals and energy storage.

What critics are saying

  • Electric Hydrogen, Hysata, and Nel Hydrogen attack the same electrolyzer market.
  • Fourier still depends on pilots; Gujarat and 2025 deployments have not proven scale economics.
  • If commercial reliability slips, customers will choose established industrial gas suppliers instead.

What makes Fourier unique

  • Fourier sells modular on-site hydrogen production, avoiding centralized plants and delivery logistics.
  • April 2025 Series A brought General Catalyst, Paramark Ventures, and Airbus Ventures validation.
  • Its product targets industrial clusters needing continuous, cost-effective hydrogen storage and supply.
