Requirements
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- At least 2 years of MIG/TIG welding experience.
- At least 5 years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using electrical or manual tools, including saws, squares, and calipers.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and drawings.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing such as a face shield and gloves.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and move materials weighing 50–100 pounds or more off the ground and overhead.
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
Responsibilities
- Lay out and perform ordinary arc and/or acetylene welding on frames, racks, tanks, and structural work in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
- Read blueprints and drawings and take measurements to plan and lay out procedures.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications, including cutting material with powered saws to match measurements.
- Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding.
- Align components using calipers, rulers, and similar tools, and clamp pieces in position.
- Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them for welding.
- Set up welding equipment and weld parts using MIG and TIG processes.
- Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to identify flaws.
Desired Qualifications
- AWS D1.2 Aluminum Certification credentials are preferred.
- Aluminum fabrication skills are preferred.
- Training experience is a plus.
