Responsibilities
Build high-quality steel structures; coordinate and manage personnel; and serve as liaison with the general contractor and other subcontractors under standards set forth by the company.
Directly supervise a steel erection crew generally numbering 5–10 personnel.
Represent the company to clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and others while working closely with the Project Manager.
Teach and enforce company policies and safety regulations.
Preplan daily work activities to accomplish the weekly plan set by the Project Manager.
Monitor and evaluate the performance and productivity of assigned workers and lead them to achieve their best possible output in quantity and quality.
Complete and appropriately distribute daily and weekly reports.
Conduct weekly safety meetings, enforce safety policies, and refer violations to the Safety Director for appropriate disciplinary action.
Attend weekly jobsite subcontractor meetings and coordinate laborer activities with the general contractor and other subcontractors.
Notify equipment managers of equipment problems.
Lead by example and mentor crew members.
Work with the Project Manager to accomplish the work plan and control project expenses and headcount to achieve schedule and budget.
Ensure that company policies and departmental Standard Operating Procedures are enforced and followed by all assigned personnel.
Ensure that data collection and resulting reports are accurately compiled and submitted on time.
Enforce safety policy and ensure a safe workplace.
Ensure that performance evaluations for all personnel are completed and returned to Human Resources in a timely manner.
Ensure that construction of each project proceeds with minimal mistakes or delays that could cause rework expenses and delays.
SUMMARY

Ensures that all Company policies and departmental Standard Operating Procedures are
enforced and adhered to by all assigned personnel 15%
Ensures that all data collection and resulting reports are accurately compiled and 15% submitted on a timely basis.
Enforces safety policy and ensures a safe workplace 15%
Ensures that performance evaluations on all personnel are completed and 10%
