The Job
Own is looking for a creative Senior Copywriter to support our marketing content needs within the Creative team. We are looking for an enthusiastic approach to creating inspiring, interesting, and on-brand copy. The candidate should excel in written skills with the proven ability to stay organized as well as the ability to prioritize work from multiple stakeholders. We are seeking someone who enjoys working in the SaaS/Tech industry and has strong time management skills.
The Senior Copywriter will help across multiple aspects of creative and marketing content and writing; writing for the web, ad copy and headlines, collateral, key presentations, etc. The Senior Copywriter will own and implement our brand tone and voice, optimizing for conversions, integrating keywords for SEO, and support marketing content efforts overall. Improving and elevating copy to help move the journey forward. Above all, the Senior Copywriter will be providing creative copy and will be trusted to keep content concise and accurate within given deadlines.
This position is an individual contributor and will report directly to the Creative Director.
Your Day-to-Day Role
- Understand and help refine/develop the brand tone and voice
- Deliver accurate, inspiring, creative copy for the channel
- Flexible approach and willingness to adapt ideas to the needs of project
- Collaborate across marketing team on content strategies including SEO and writing for the web
- Flexibility to test copy and provide A/B options
- Understand customers and personas to craft directed content appropriately
- Keep tone and voice consistent across channels and mediums
- Experience in writing succinct copy that is grammatically correct
- Strong editing and proofing skills to ensure copy is correct and accurate
- Ability to align work to overall business and project objectives
- Partner with the multidisciplinary creative team to drive compelling copy
- Foster and build relationships with stakeholders to execute thoughtful messaging
- Ability to think creatively and strategically
- Ability to work quickly yet accurately to meet deadlines
- A passion for writing and the openness to continue learning and growing
- Maintain best practices while innovating and testing new modern approaches
Your Work Experience
- BA/BS degree in Journalism, Creative Writing, or similar field
- 5-8 years of creative copywriting experience; SaaS/ Tech Creative preferred
- Experience writing for web and marketing projects
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Adept at managing deadlines
- Self-motivated with a collaborative spirit
- Manage time effectively, ask for help, and meet deadlines
- Strong people and interpersonal acumen comfortable working in cross functional integrated teams
- Work from a brief and within creative workflow
- Clear and effective communication
Important Details
This is a full-time position. The ideal candidate will work out of our Englewood Cliffs, NJ office a minimum of 3 days per week to maximize collaboration and interaction with the business. Travel may be required.
