Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer is required.
  • Proficiency in Elasticsearch and Python is required.
  • Experience with SQL databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, is required.
  • Experience with Flask, API frameworks, data warehousing or lakehouse principles, databases, object-relational mapping, data analysis, Databricks, Pandas, Spark, PySpark, machine learning, OpenCV, and Scikit-learn is required.
  • Experience using Java to build and enhance backend systems, particularly for integration with Elasticsearch and databases, is required.
  • Ability to develop APIs, microservices, and automation scripts is required.
  • Experience with logging, requests, subprocess, regular expressions, pytest, the ELK stack, Redis, and distributed task queues is required.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing or lakehousing principles and concurrent or parallel processing concepts is required.
  • Familiarity with at least one cloud data engineering stack, including Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud Platform, is required.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new ETL or ELT tools across various cloud providers is required.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and collaborative development workflows is required.
  • Competence working on Linux and creating shell scripts is required.
  • A solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices is required.
  • Problem-solving, analytical, attention-to-detail, written communication, verbal communication, and teamwork abilities are required.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and tools are required.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and optimize Elasticsearch clusters for high-performance querying and data retrieval.
  • Build and manage Elasticsearch indexes, ensuring data is stored, indexed, and queried efficiently.
  • Build and optimize data storage solutions such as data lakes and warehouses.
  • Integrate structured and unstructured data from internal and external systems to create a unified view for analysis.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness through validation, cleansing, and transformation processes.
  • Maintain documentation for data processes, tools, and systems while promoting best practices for efficient workflows.
  • Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Participate in requirements analysis sessions to understand business and user requirements.
  • Provide technical insights and recommendations during the requirements-gathering process.
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.
  • Work with Agile teams to deliver software solutions on time and within scope.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and requirements in an Agile environment.
  • Conduct testing and debugging to ensure application reliability, security, and performance.
  • Write unit tests and validate the functionality of developed features and individual elements.
  • Write integration tests to ensure application elements function as intended and meet requirements.
  • Identify and resolve software defects, code smells, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Stay updated with technologies and trends in full-stack development.
  • Propose solutions to improve application performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Optimize and refactor the existing codebase for improved efficiency.
  • Stay up to date with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including testers and product managers.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment where ideas are shared and valued.
