  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business/Public Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of five years of relevant education and experience.
  • Knowledge of a fundraising customer relationship management system; Raiser’s Edge is preferred.
  • Experience with fundraising and donor engagement platforms such as Signal by EverTrue, GiveCampus, and ThankView.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and interest in artificial intelligence tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, manage, and grow annual gifts through direct mail, TeleCenter, and electronic solicitation, using participation and upgrade methodologies.
  • Develop strategies to acquire new donors, with particular emphasis on increasing alumni donors, and to upgrade and retain current donors; coordinate year-round acquisition and cultivation programs.
  • Manage staff responsible for daily operations of the Howard University Tele-Center, including tracking pledges and organizing data for requested reports.
  • Support stakeholders using the University’s crowdfunding platform, including setup and reporting.
  • Analyze data and prepare final reports, recommendations, and other information resources to improve direct mail, online, and telephone solicitation programs tactically and strategically, particularly through program segmentation and accurate campaign execution.
  • Support preparation of annual revenue and expense targets and manage spending within budget.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • An excellent understanding of charitable-giving laws is preferred.
  • Experience working with program leadership in a capital or comprehensive campaign.
  • Proven success in moving donors to make larger gifts.
  • Personal and professional commitment to campaign goals.
  • Experience in telemarketing and institutional fundraising is highly desired.
