  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and hands-on problem-solving ability
  • Proficiency in 3D computer-aided design (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Experience designing precision mechanical components, with exposure to manufacturing processes such as injection molding, CNC machining, additive manufacturing, or stamping
  • Curiosity, ownership mindset, and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Medical device experience is a plus, but not required
Responsibilities
  • Design, prototype, and validate mechanical and mechatronic subsystems for minimally invasive surgical devices
  • Develop 3D CAD models, drawings, and assemblies; review peer designs with a focus on performance, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Select materials and components appropriate for precision, miniaturized mechanisms
  • Execute hands-on testing and experimentation to characterize performance and inform design decisions
  • Partner closely with manufacturing to optimize designs for DFM/DFA and support design transfer
  • Document development activities in accordance with medical device requirements (design history, test reports, technical documentation)
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of existing products with a focus on quality, speed, and cost
