Requirements
  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent.
  • Must be a licensed Medication Aide who has successfully completed a state-approved training program and any necessary examinations in accordance with state laws.
  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
  • Must be able to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Must be able to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to use a desktop or laptop computer for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, read, and hear regularly.
  • Must be able to frequently use office equipment including a copier, scanner, fax, telephone, and calculator.
  • May need to assist in evacuating residents during emergency situations.
Responsibilities
  • Administer medications to residents as ordered by the attending physician and under the direction of the physician, nurse supervisor, charge nurse, or Director of Nursing Services.
  • Follow facility policies and procedures governing medication administration.
  • Note and report medication administration errors.
  • Assist in developing and implementing procedures or programs to identify when, where, and why medication errors occur and how they can be prevented.
  • Complete and submit required forms, charts, reports, and other administrative documentation.
  • Maintain working relationships with nursing department personnel, attending physicians, the Medical Director, and pharmacists.
  • Report resident complaints or grievances to the Director of Nursing Services.
  • Participate and cooperate in facility surveys or inspections conducted by authorized government agencies when requested.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance programs, the Pharmaceutical Services Committee, and other facility committees or programs affecting medication administration and process accuracy.
  • Prepare, administer, and document oral and topical medications accurately and safely.
  • Verify that medications brought into the facility by newly admitted residents are examined and identified by the attending physician, facility pharmacy, or pharmacist.
  • Follow facility procedures for destroying medications and assist under the direction of the facility pharmacist or Director of Nursing Services, including completing required documentation.
  • Follow facility labeling policies and ensure all administered medications are properly labeled.
  • Follow facility procedures for charting medications.
  • Assist in documenting and removing medications discontinued by the attending physician.
  • Follow procedures for drug receipt errors, including notifying the delivery source and Director of Nursing Services.
  • Ensure drug receipt error documentation includes a written error report signed by an observer or witness and the employee.
  • Follow procedures for holding medications for residents transferred from the facility or when medications are discontinued by the attending physician.
  • Observe and verify that medication is ingested or applied as directed, and document medication refusals and their reasons.
  • Promptly notify the charge nurse, nurse supervisor, or Director of Nursing Services of medication errors or resident reactions.
  • Verify resident identity before administering medication treatments.
  • Accurately measure, record, and report residents’ vital signs.
  • Follow procedures allowing residents to self-administer medications.
  • Attend continuing education programs to remain current in the profession and maintain current certification.
  • Protect residents’ protected health information and promptly report suspected or known disclosure violations.
  • Report known or suspected unauthorized attempts to access the facility information system.
  • Perform assigned tasks according to established policies, procedures, and supervisor instructions.
  • Follow work assignments and schedules when completing assigned tasks.
  • Cooperate with interdepartmental and facility personnel to maintain adequate nursing services for residents.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident care information and report known or suspected unauthorized disclosures.

PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. Most recently, Hendrickson served as CFO of U.S. Physical Therapy, overseeing 779 outpatient clinics across 44 states. He previously held CFO roles at Capital Senior Living Corporation, managing 128 communities across 23 states, and Belo Corp. He succeeds Mark Hancock, PACS's co-founder and executive vice chairman, who will retire by 30 June 2026 whilst remaining on the board as vice chairman. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. Under his leadership, the company expanded to 323 facilities across 17 states, serving over 31,700 patients daily and generating $5.29 billion in revenue in 2025, representing 29.3% year-on-year growth. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion.
