Requirements
  • At least 3 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience with machine setup, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, blueprint reading, quality inspection metrology tools, visual quality assurance, problem solving, information processing, accuracy and attention to detail, communication, data entry, and mathematical ability.
  • Ability to remain stationary, move around the facility, move equipment, position oneself around equipment, and repeatedly handle, adjust, inspect, and position items and equipment.
  • Ability to distinguish written information and defects and communicate with others.
  • Must complete required training.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States and provide proof of U.S. work eligibility through E-Verify.
  • May be required to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening based on position requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with CNC machine programs for manufacturing medical components according to design specifications using Unigraphics and hand coding with G-code and M-code.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes by selecting cutting tools, specifying machining parameters, and fine-tuning programming algorithms to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.
  • Test and validate CNC programs for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and material integrity.
  • Set up and operate machines during trial runs to verify machine-setting accuracy against programmed control data.
  • Verify finished workpieces conform to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, and unusual conditions to the department supervisor or lead.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and quality engineering on validation tasks.
  • Set up three-, four-, five-, and higher-axis CNC machines.
  • Operate multiple machines simultaneously.
  • Monitor machines to ensure proper program performance.
  • Complete shop work orders, inspection documentation, and daily maintenance sheets.
  • Make offsets and machine adjustments without supervision.
  • Troubleshoot problems and escalate them to technical experts and leadership as necessary.
  • Follow procedures, work instructions, and forms under the Quality Management System to support quality and compliance.
  • Advocate for workplace health and safety.

Tecomet and Orchid Orthopedic Solutions have completed their merger, creating a global manufacturing platform serving MedTech and aerospace and defence customers. The combined company will operate under the Tecomet name, with Andreas Weller serving as CEO.
