Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Willingness to learn to operate equipment needed for warehouse duties, including manual and electric pallet jacks and handheld scanners.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to read and write English.
Responsibilities
- Apply glad hand locks and wheel chocks to trailers before unloading.
- Assist FSQA and receivers with breaking down pallets for quality checks and transporting items to storage.
- Place received produce and packaged goods in the correct storage locations.
- Stage produce and packaging according to FIFO in the correct temperature-controlled locations, and remove plastic from produce that needs to breathe.
- Notify leadership when products are found in incorrect locations.
- Create space for inbound loads and keep storage pods free of debris.
- Set the floor for decanting and shipping lines according to the drop list and boxing callout.
- Stage packaging materials for the box team, shipping lines, and decanting area.
- Bring requested materials to production before supplies run out, according to production counts, and respond to additional product needs.
- Move materials needed for production, warehouse, sanitation, or FSQA.
- Before breaks, check with production and visually verify produce and packaging levels to ensure the area remains stocked.
- At shift end, remove unused materials from the drop zone and return area, and return all products to their home locations.
- Keep stored pallets front-faced and level, remove plastic, and organize assigned storage areas.
- Check loaded trailers at the shipping dock for trash or pine pallets and remove items not needed for completed shipments.
- Apply a glad hand lock and chock trailer wheels before loading.
- Load completed pallets onto trucks according to the load diagram, with management approval; a full load is 26 pallets.
- After loading, seal the closed trailer door with a FedEx seal, record the seal serial number on the load diagram, remove the glad hand lock, and submit paperwork to leadership.
- Assist with other functions needed to deliver finished goods, using certified equipment or supporting other departments as needed.
- Follow safety procedures, conduct pre-shift checks of equipment, and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Follow facility good manufacturing practices and help enforce them throughout the facility.
- Sign out equipment needed for duties and return it at the end of the shift.
- Support the facility's food safety system (SQF) and quality programs.
- Carry oneself professionally and treat others respectfully.
