Nebraska regulators dismiss grain payment complaint against Ohio-based agribusiness.

Nebraska regulators dismiss grain payment complaint against Ohio-based agribusiness. Published: Sep. 22, 2026 at 10:38 AM PDT | Updated: 4 hours ago LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A complaint against an Ohio-based agribusiness has been dismissed by the Nebraska Public Service Commission after an agreement was reached. On Tuesday, the PSC approved an order dismissing the complaint against The Andersons Inc. and accepting a stipulated agreement between the business and the PSC's Grain Department. The Andersons Inc. is licensed by the commission as a grain dealer, which allows it to purchase, sell and broker grain in Nebraska. The complaint, filed Aug. 6, alleged The Andersons violated the state's Grain Dealer Act and commission rules by failing to pay for grain purchased from a Nebraska producer. As part of the resolution, The Andersons provided records demonstrating that the company had addressed the payment issues raised in the complaint. In its review, the Grain Department found that the issues were resolved and that it had received no additional reports of payment problems related to the company. The PSC said that under the stipulated agreement, The Andersons will pay an administrative fine and the company's Nebraska grain dealer license will remain in good standing. "Our priority is ensuring Nebraska's grain laws are followed and that producers are protected as the statutes intend," said Terri Fritz, Grain Department director. "We're satisfied that the issues that led to the complaint have been addressed, and this agreement provides an appropriate resolution that allows us to bring the matter to a close." The Andersons denies the violations noted in the complaint, and the stipulated agreement does not constitute an admission that violations occurred, the PSC said.
