Requirements
  • NATABOC certification is required.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field of study is required.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are required by the start date, including Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers or Professional Rescuer certifications.
  • The ability to show initiative and work independently while working with Athletics staff members is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Proficient organizational and computer skills are required.
  • A strong Christian faith and worldview consistent with Life Pacific University's Statement of Faith is required, and employees must sign the statement.
  • Candidates must be Christian believers holding a Pentecostal/charismatic perspective and must adhere to the university's statement of faith and mission.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, manage, and supervise the healthcare of Life Pacific University student-athletes.
  • Evaluate and direct emergency medical attention for severely injured student-athletes during practice or competition.
  • Plan and implement injury-prevention programs through rehabilitation and corrective exercises.
  • Plan and implement treatment, care, and rehabilitation of injuries, including medical referrals, to facilitate medical clearance and return to play.
  • Coordinate with the Head Athletic Trainer on referrals and insurance claims for injuries requiring further evaluation and treatment.
  • Organize and maintain medical records and documentation for insurance billing, payments, and potential medical or legal claims.
  • Assist the Head Athletic Trainer with preseason paperwork, including pre-participation examinations, and coordinate medical clearance for athletic participation.
  • Act as a liaison among student-athletes, coaches, and physicians regarding medical consultations and athletic status.
  • Maintain current knowledge of techniques for preventing, treating, and rehabilitating athletic injuries through clinics, seminars, and professional periodicals.
  • Perform other athletic department duties assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.
  • Model caring relationships with students through personal interaction and serve as an effective Christian-life role model.
