Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • At least 1 year of experience with general MRI examinations, implants, elastography, and defecography.
  • Registry eligibility through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists in MRI.
  • Ability to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
  • Familiarity with age-specific criteria.
  • Ability to obtain the required registry within 1 year of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or an American Heart Association-recognized equivalent, or American Red Cross CPR/AED certification for Professional Rescuers and Healthcare Providers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to perform the listed physical functions, including standing, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted, moving patients up to approximately 350 pounds with assistance, and pushing or pulling objects or patients up to approximately 350 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to maintain the required vision, hearing, sensory, dexterity, mobility, and respirator-use qualifications.
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to learn and use new processes, tools, and equipment as required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols while ensuring image quality, patient safety, and efficient workflow.
  • Complete patient screening, examination documentation, and image verification in the Radiology Information System and Picture Archiving and Communication System to support timely physician interpretation.
  • Maintain high standards of image quality, productivity, and patient throughput.
  • Deliver safe, compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the imaging process.
  • Adhere to MRI safety protocols, including zone safety procedures, implant screening, and ferromagnetic safety practices.
  • Use the SHIELD reporting platform to document and escalate events outside normal clinical encounters.
  • Follow departmental policies, modality standards, and organizational compliance requirements.
  • Perform routine equipment quality-control checks and assist with troubleshooting and service-ticket submission as needed.
  • Support onboarding, training, and education of staff and students.
  • Participate in performance-improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, safety, and patient, employee, and physician satisfaction.
  • Attend staff meetings, in-services, lunch-and-learns, and quality-improvement meetings.
