Requirements
  • A Ph.D. in biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology, or another relevant field is required.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in discovering molecular, biochemical, or chemical mechanisms is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of scientific techniques are required.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct basic and applied research activities and author scientific publications, technical and agency reports, and patent preparations.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to publish findings in refereed journals, create and conduct experiments, and analyze results.
  • Work with other researchers to use and develop end products.
  • Write extramural proposals with approval from appropriate senior staff.
  • Provide managing staff with ready access to all experimental data.
  • Request or acquire equipment and supplies for assigned projects.
  • Use the internet, surveys, legal documents, and other available sources to collect information.
  • Apply for grants and prepare materials for submission to granting agencies and foundations.
  • Conduct research involving tumor metabolism, molecular oncology, drug development, clinical trials, endocrine physiology, cancer models, and therapeutic studies.
