Requirements
  • At least 5 years of operating-room registered nurse experience, including Main Operating Room or intraoperative experience.
  • At least 1 year of leadership experience, such as charge nurse, lead, preceptor, or supervisor experience.
  • A California registered nurse license and Basic Life Support certification.
  • Experience with Joint Commission compliance, survey readiness, and mock rounds.
  • Experience with emergency preparedness and multi-unit hospital operations.
  • A strong background in nursing resource allocation, clinical quality and risk management, labor relations, and budget and utilization management.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily Main Operating Room operations and nursing staff.
  • Support staffing, resource allocation, patient placement, and utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with the Joint Commission, the Nursing Practice Act, and other regulatory standards.
  • Lead survey readiness, mock rounds, and corrective actions.
  • Support emergency preparedness planning and staff training.
  • Monitor clinical quality, patient safety, and risk management.
  • Support budget, productivity, and utilization goals.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop nursing staff.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and/or Certified Nurse Operating Room certification.
  • Experience in a large-hospital, union, acute-care operating-room environment.
