Requirements
  • A Master's or Ph.D. in counseling, social work, psychology, or another counseling-related field is required.
  • LPC, LCSW, or LMFT licensure, clinical qualification, or intern-status licensure is required.
  • Three years of experience in social work or a related field is required.
  • Experience working with addictions and/or mental health is required.
  • Experience using interventions including dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and family systems is required.
  • Understanding of models and theories of addiction, mental illness, and related issues is required.
  • Knowledge of treatment, recovery, relapse prevention, and continuing-care models for dually diagnosed populations is required.
  • Understanding of diagnostic criteria for dual conditions and ability to conceptualize modalities and placement criteria across the continuum of care is required.
  • Understanding of diverse cultures and gender-specific issues, with ability to incorporate culturally and gender-diverse needs into practice, is required.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work independently is required.
  • Proficient computer skills are required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is required; certification must be obtained within the state-mandated timeframe if not held at hire.
Responsibilities
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy; crisis intervention; primary process groups; psychoeducation presentations; and experiential learning groups for clients and families.
  • Provide oversight of residential facilities.
  • Provide clinical consultation for clients, families, and referring parties upon request.
  • Complete psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and clinical discharge summaries.
  • Work closely with the clinical case manager and family therapist to provide comprehensive client care.
Desired Qualifications
  • Expressive or experiential therapy training is preferred.
