  • Must be a United States citizen and obtain, possess, and maintain background suitability or adjudication through the Department of Justice.
  • Must hold valid Armed Security, Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services registration, Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services firearms, OC baton, CPR/AED, and FPS Exhibits credentials, including the specified weapons, handcuffs, and training classes.
  • Must be a Certified Security Officer.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency with firearms and other special weapons and meet rigorous physical fitness standards.
  • Must pass a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references, and provide proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States and for TTI.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, sit, walk, or stand for prolonged periods, often in rough terrain and severe weather.
  • Must be able to move or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must possess visual acuity to review written documentation, hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone, and operate a cell phone, handheld radio, telephone, and keyboard.
  • Must be able to work beyond eight hours per day and routinely work ten or more hours per day.
  • Must be able to work day, swing, or night shifts as assigned.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently.
  • Must have knowledge of office policies, practices, and procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Enforce regulations and procedures designed to prevent breaches of security.
  • Exercise judgment and discretion when responding to incidents and emergencies.
  • Determine whether to intervene directly, request assistance, keep situations under control or surveillance, or report incidents to the appropriate authority.
  • Perform security guard duties.
  • Report to work in the proper uniform and maintain the appropriate uniform while on duty.
  • Operate in field conditions involving blowing dust and sand, temperatures from 10 degrees below zero Fahrenheit to more than 125 degrees Fahrenheit, and extended periods of high stress.
