Requirements
  • At least three years of experience supervising at least 10 associates.
  • At least three years of experience in the hotel industry.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Pass appropriate company security clearances.
  • Thorough knowledge of government regulations applicable to the hotel industry.
  • Knowledge of accounting processes, including receivables, payables, budgets, invoices, and payroll.
  • Practical knowledge of LBA rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including group presentations.
  • Proficient written and verbal English.
  • Financial analysis skills to assess business opportunities and their contribution to business success.
  • Project management skills, including organizing and multitasking.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, department heads, associates, and home office support staff.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and solve multifaceted problems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a stressful atmosphere.
  • Ability to perform required physical activities, including standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, talking, and hearing.
  • Ability to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift or carry 30 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to stand for eight hours and bend, stretch, reach, crawl, and kneel.
  • Ability to work any day or shift, including nights and weekends.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the main liaison between the General Manager and daily operations in a dual or combo property.
  • Plan strategically to maximize profits.
  • Manage major areas of hotel operations and services, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Food and Beverage.
  • Oversee personnel, budget performance, and financial controls in accordance with established quality standards.
  • Assume additional operational responsibility for the hotel brand in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Ensure hotel staff greet guests properly, follow uniform standards, and resolve guest complaints appropriately.
  • Manage new-hire processes for each department and ensure newly hired associates complete required paperwork and orientation.
  • Review ongoing training practices to keep associates current on policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a professional, cohesive team by hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and developing associates.
  • Monitor communication between departments and the General Manager to ensure timely and accurate information flow.
  • Assist the General Manager in developing and executing long- and short-term financial objectives and exceeding budgeted sales and expense goals.
  • Review cost accounts with the General Manager weekly.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained according to service standards and outages are reported and resolved promptly.
  • Complete administrative duties, including scheduling, payroll, inventory, orders, and production controls.
  • Ensure hotel staff follow company rules and policies and oversee implementation of new rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain certification from a brand-approved responsible vendor training program.
  • Maintain business and charitable involvement in the community in partnership with the General Manager.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public access areas, and outside grounds for cleanliness, safety, and appearance.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in Hilton or Marriott family of hotels.
  • A bachelor's degree.
