  • A high school diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification, or license is required.
  • A minimum of 0–1 year of relevant experience is required.
  • A valid State of Florida Certified Nursing Assistant license is required.
  • The ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols and adapt to changing priorities and work demands is required.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment is required.
  • Technical proficiency with office software, technology, and relevant computer applications is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders are required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform standard patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Assist patients with dressing and undressing, bathing, eating, and other personal hygiene needs.
  • Collect noninvasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
  • Assist physicians and nursing staff members with procedures and document patient interactions.
  • Provide patients with bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, shaves, and assistance with showers.
  • Assist with meals, feed patients, ambulate, turn, and position patients, and provide fresh water and nourishment between meals.
  • Administer enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preparations, ice packs, heat treatments, therapeutic baths, sitz baths, and restraints.
  • Perform sugar and acetone urine testing, specimen collection, and post-mortem care.
  • Answer patients’ call lights and requests promptly.
  • Maintain a safe and attractive environment for patients and staff and transport patients and equipment.
  • Report patient conditions to the assigned nurse to support professional assessment.
  • Measure and record food and liquid intake and output and check and record vital signs.
  • Help patients walk, exercise, and move in and out of bed.
  • Follow University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
