Requirements
  • A degree-qualified engineering background with at least 3 years of experience within an engineering environment, or an HNC/HND in an engineering discipline.
  • A full United Kingdom driving licence.
  • Eligibility and current authorization to work full time in the United Kingdom.
  • Experience with new product introduction or new product development in an engineering or product development environment.
  • The ability to create and develop technical specifications.
  • Knowledge and experience with hydraulic and electrical control systems.
  • Experience developing and executing test techniques and analyzing subsequent data using analysis or measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel and/or other data-processing tools.
  • The ability to read technical drawings and understand mechanical design principles.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with other business functions and external customers.
  • Knowledge of Diesel Common Rail and Gasoline Direct fuel injection systems.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Act as Lead Engineer on Hartridge research and development projects.
  • Develop functional specifications and concepts for new products and accessories.
  • Design and execute experiments to validate and verify new machine and control concepts.
  • Write project technical documentation, including specifications, timing plans, acceptance test procedures, user manuals, and application guides.
  • Liaise with internal and external customers to fulfill both customer and Hartridge requirements.
  • Work in a development workshop environment on Hartridge equipment and in an office environment writing specifications, analyzing data, and holding formal meetings and discussions.

  • Knowledge of vehicle control systems and fuel injection systems.
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical assemblies, and electrical layouts.
  • Experience with design for manufacture, design for assembly, value analysis/value engineering, failure mode and effects analysis.

Phinia Inc reported strong second-quarter 2026 results, with net sales of $940 million, up 5.6% year-over-year.
