DraftKings guides 2026 EBITDA at $700M–$900M, but Wall Street models $667M as CEO signals lower 2027 spend

DraftKings chief executive Jason Robins says spending on its Predictions product could fall in 2027. Speaking at the Wells Fargo Consumer Conference on September 22, he said higher 2026 spending does not mean higher costs next year: "if anything, it's probably the opposite." The company has guided to $700 million to $900 million of 2026 adjusted EBITDA. Consensus sits near $667 million, below that floor. DraftKings reports third-quarter results on November 5 and has promised a 2027 update the next day. Analysts expect a third-quarter EBITDA loss of about $49 million and 2027 EBITDA of about $1.12 billion. Shares rose about 2% to $20.94 on October 22. The mean analyst target is about $34.

DraftKings Predictions hits $11B annualised volume, but is it enough to revive the stock?

DraftKings is betting on Predictions, its prediction market, to reach customers its sportsbook cannot. The stock fell 39.9% over the past year, while the S&P 500 returned 17.1%. On its August 7, 2026 call, management said more than 600,000 customers had used Predictions in 2026, many in states without a regulated sportsbook, such as California and Texas. Annualized volume traded rose to $11 billion in July from $2.3 billion in April. Sportsbook handle rose 11% year on year in fiscal Q2 2026, but total revenue fell 4.6%. Management blamed customer sports results and acquisition costs. DraftKings plans to invest $200 million to $300 million in Predictions in 2026 and kept revenue guidance at $6.5 billion to $6.9 billion. Lower revenue per customer and regulation remain risks.

DraftKings stock down 11.1% in six months to $20.44: three reasons analysts avoid it

DraftKings' stock has fallen to $20.44 over the past six months, leaving shareholders down 11.1% while the S&P 500 gained 8.9%. Softer quarterly results partly drove the drop, according to analysts at StockStory. StockStory cites three concerns. Annualised revenue growth of 20.3% over the last two years fell below the five-year trend, and the operating margin averaged negative 4.4% over the same period, despite a rise in the last 12 months. Its free cash flow margin averaged 9.9%, which StockStory considers low for a consumer discretionary business. The stock trades at 18.7× forward earnings, a reasonable valuation but not a big opportunity, the analysts say.

Inside Gaming: MGM Resorts, Wynn and betting giants hit hard as gaming stocks struggle.

Inside Gaming: MGM Resorts, Wynn and betting giants hit hard as gaming stocks struggle. People walk across a pedestrian bridge from the MGM Grand Monday, June 1, 2026, in Las Vegas. (Benjamin Hager/Las Vegas Review-Journal) Las Vegas Review-Journal October 20, 2026 - 6:00 am Gift this article Shares of several major gaming companies remain near their lowest levels of the past year, with Las Vegas-focused operators and online betting companies facing steep declines despite mixed results in Monday's trading. MGM Resorts International fell 2.3 percent Monday to close at $27.95, setting a new 52-week low of $27.94 during the session. The shares are down about 46 percent from their 52-week high of $51.59, reached in June. Caesars Entertainment has fared better than several major competitors this year. The company's shareholders approved Tilman Fertitta's $17.6 billion acquisition of the casino operator in September. The all-cash deal values Caesars shares at $31 each and would take the company private, subject to regulatory approval and other closing conditions. Caesars shares closed at $28.80 on Friday, below the agreed acquisition price. Wynn Resorts has also approached its yearly lows, with shares hitting $75.98 on Monday, down nearly 38 percent year-to-date. Online betting operators have experienced some of the sector's steepest declines. Flutter Entertainment, parent company of FanDuel, has seen shares traded as low as $72.56 this month, leaving them close to their 52-week low. Flutter's market capitalization has fallen sharply from its highs above $50 billion last year. Shares of rival DraftKings are 46.5 percent below their 52-week high of $36.98, reached in January. DraftKings' market value has fallen below $10 billion. Wall Street analysts say online betting companies are contending with new competition from prediction markets and changing regulatory conditions, while land-based casino operators are facing concerns about consumer demand. BUSINESS NEWS YOUR WAY Circa Survivor contestants crushed again. At least one NFL favorite of seven points or more has lost in each of the first six weeks of the season. Those upsets have caused carnage in the Circa Survivor contests, where contestants pick one NFL outright winner each week but can use each team only once. More than half the remaining Circa Survivor field was eliminated Sunday by the Los Angeles Rams and Indianapolis Colts, leaving only 1,277 (5.1 percent) of the starting field of 25,017 entries who paid $1,000 each for the chance to win the $25 million prize. That includes 119 selections on the San Francisco 49ers on "Monday Night Football." The Rams, 12[1/2]-point favorites over the Arizona Cardinals, were the most popular pick with 901 selections (31 percent of the field). They were knocked out by the biggest upset of the season when Chad Ryland kicked a game-winning 43-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Cardinals to an 18-16 win. The Colts, 6[1/2]-point favorites over the Tennessee Titans, eliminated 703 entries (24.2 percent) after blowing a 13-0 halftime lead. Chimere Dike's 58-yard punt return early in the fourth quarter set up the tying score for the Titans and Oluwafemi Oladejo's 14-yard return of a blocked punt gave Tennessee its first lead with 10:17 left. Joey Slye made two field goals in the final 2:03 and the Titans held on for their first win of the season. More than half the remaining Circa Grandissimo high-stakes Survivor contestants also were knocked out by the Rams and Colts, who eliminated eight $100,000 entries. That leaves only six (including one on the 49ers) of the starting field of 77 entries still in the hunt for the $7.7 million prize. One $100,000 entry failed to submit their pick, thought they reportedly planned to take the Rams. New lair at Rio. The Rio hotel-casino has collaborated with Aristocrat Gaming to develop "Dragon Lair," a new gaming space to bring Dragon Link and Phoenix Link slot machines to an area formerly occupied by the Rio's poker room. The Dragon Link and Phoenix Link games, build off the Lightning Link title, adding colorful themed visuals and game features. Dragon Link takes Hold & Spin and adds an Orb trigger symbol across all titles, making it easy to recognize regardless of the game players are enjoying. While Phoenix Link puts fresh twists on features like the classic Hold & Spin with scaling grand and major jackpots, as well as free games with the opportunity to reward players with "Wild Multipliers" or "Twin Spins." The multidenomination games offer intuitive play and a variety of bonuses. "We're excited to collaborate with Rio to bring Dragon Lair to life and create an experience designed specifically for Aristocrat's loyal players," said Kurt Gissane, chief commercial officer, Americas at Aristocrat Gaming. "By combining Rio's vision with Aristocrat Gaming's expansive portfolio of entertaining content, we've created a dedicated gaming destination that delivers energy, variety and excitement." September slowdown for Atlantic City casinos. Atlantic City's brick-and-mortar casinos had one of their weakest Septembers in recent history, according to figures released Monday by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. Despite a 4.6 percent year-over-year increase in slot revenue, the city's nine casinos generated $227.8 million from gamblers last month, a year-over-year decline of 1.3 percent. "After a positive run from May through July 2026 - some of the best brick-and-mortar returns since 2011 - Atlantic City's brick-and-mortar operations have seen a concerning shift in fortunes to one of the worst Septembers in recent history," Stockton University gaming analyst Brian Tyrrell said in a statement Monday. Online gaming win rose 13 percent to its third-highest monthly total on record, surpassing in-person casino win for the first time since June and pushing year-to-date internet gaming revenue above $2.4 billion earlier than in any year on record, according to New Jersey Casino Control Commission Chairman James Plousis. Statewide sports betting win and handle also declined, partly because September had one fewer weekend of football than last year. Tyrrell also raised the possibility that prediction markets such as Kalshi and Polymarket are diverting wagers from regulated sportsbooks, potentially affecting state tax revenue and contributions to the state's Casino Revenue Fund.
