Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, actuarial science, mathematics, related field, or commensurate experience.
  • 6-10 years of insurance/reinsurance experience, preferably in reinsurance, underwriting, claims, actuarial, or risk management functions.
  • 5+ years of climate/catastrophe analysis experience including strong quantitative background with knowledge of prevailing climate risk scenarios.
  • 5+ years of data analysis experience, including collecting and analyzing data, identifying trends, and recommending solutions.
  • Effective presentation skills and able to deliver messages in a clear, compelling, and concise manner.
  • Strong organization skills including the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks while meeting schedules and deadlines.
Responsibilities
  • Develop framework for climate/catastrophe risk through quantification of the company's exposure to climate risk including property portfolio aggregations, data quality, stress testing, heat maps, and impact analysis.
  • Developing cutting-edge analytics that drive returns optimization and portfolio growth.
  • Establishing and driving process rigor for risk appetite / Credit Risk analytics.
  • Ensuring the appropriateness of top-down model results for the US Mortgage portfolios.
  • Integrating quantitative and qualitative standards to fast-track problem solving and innovation.
  • Utilize SAS and/or SQL to source data from across the firm and externally; interprets data to evaluate the accuracy and relevance for use in climate risk stress testing and impact models.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and interpretation of third-party catastrophe models.
  • Establish and leverage cross-functional partnerships and network with key internal and external parties to meet climate risk policy initiatives.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for physical climate risk data and analytics.
  • Prepare risk management presentations for senior management that include analytics on expected portfolio performance and areas of potential risk and/or opportunity.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
