Requirements
  • Psy.D. or Ph.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
  • Must be licensed in New Jersey (license eligible will be considered)
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care for children, adolescents, and families with a wide range of symptomatology using empirically validated interventions
  • Assess and develop treatment plans for patients and families; provide psychotherapy; collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
  • Identify need and implement group-based interventions
  • Identify gaps in psychological programming and recommend and implement solutions
  • Develop presentations and provide trainings on Psychotherapy topics (e.g., CBT, TF-CBT, MI, ACT, and DBT) to psychiatry residents and other learners
  • Participate in weekly didactics and group supervision with Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine teams
  • Develop meaningful relationships with leadership including attending physicians, advance practice providers, and administrative leads
  • Engage in ongoing behavioral health research including initiation of new projects and seeking grant funding; present at local, regional, and national conferences; publish on child and adolescent mental health topics
  • Participate in Psychology Internship program committee if desired
  • Provide supervision for Psychiatry residents PGY3/4 for their outpatient psychotherapy cases; mentor CMSRU medical students; participate in psychology training programs with externs, pre-doctoral interns, and post-doctoral fellows
  • Maintain timely clinical notes in electronic medical record; administer, score and compile psychological reports for assessment cases; maintain current New Jersey licensure; report to Chief of Psychiatry; participate in training and Grand Rounds
  • Teach and pursue academic appointment considerations at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University; lecture for CMSRU courses; supervise medical students; present for cooperative programs within CUH and outside
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with children exposed to trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences is preferred
  • Post-doctoral training with child and adolescent populations is preferred
  • Consideration for academic appointment based on academic, research and clinical experience (as part of Teaching duties)
