Job Description

ProSidian Seeks a Nuclear Safety and QA Support Specialist headquartered near Richland, WA 99319 to support an engagement for the DOE Office of River Protection (ORP) - an independent office at the DOE Site in eastern Washington state with the exclusive focus of remediating and solving the DOE’s tank cleanup challenges. ORP’s mission is to protect the Columbia River by safely cleaning up radioactive and chemical waste contained in underground storage tanks located at the DOE Site. 

The ProSidian Engagement Team Members work to provide Site Technical Support Services assistance including technical support services in environmental remediation, and related technical and administrative program management support expertise and assistance in carrying out responsibilities to plan, direct and oversee design, construction, environmental remediation, cleanup and operation of government facilities to support ORP at Hanford in the Eastern Washington (Tri-Cities - Kennewick | Pasco | Richland) Area

Nuclear Safety and QA Support Specialist Candidates shall work to support requirements for ORP Site Technical Support Services and provide ORP Nuclear Safety and QA Technical Support Services OBO The United States Department of Energy, Office of River Protection (ORP) at the Hanford Site in Richland, Washington for ORP's Technical and Regulatory Support Division.  The ProSidian Nuclear Safety and QA Support Specialist shall provide nuclear safety expertise, to strategically manage integration between nuclear safety, engineering, Quality Assurance (QA) between both Department of Energy (DOE) – Office of River Protection (ORP) and Bechtel National, Inc. (BNI) to address the specific tasks identified below.

DELIVERABLES

1. Perform nuclear safety strategic support for the analysis and response to the BNI Nuclear Safety Request for Equitable Adjustment (REA 2018-008). Task completion will be represented by the DOE issued technical position and disposition of the REA.
2. Manage resolution of BNI issues through joint ORP/BNI integration using the tools established by the nuclear safety and QA war rooms, including but not limited to; accelerated response teams, rapid prototyping, and escalation resulting in the completion of the Government Accountability Office (GAO) QA report final response.
3. Provide strategic solutions to emerging project challenges such as defense in depth, safety SSC procurement, and alignment of QA requirements with nuclear safety, ongoing maturation of interface between Nuclear Safety, QA, Engineering and Operations.
4. Completion of deliverables will require may work directly with ORP contractors as part of an integrated team to assist ORP contractors in producing QA documents and deliverables. There are no contract deliverables associated with this sub-task because ORP contractors maintain full responsibility for the final content and delivery of safety basis documents.

Qualifications

The Nuclear Safety and QA Support Specialist shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/Power point) and related tools and technology required for the position.  Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined.

QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENT: All work performed under this task order must be in compliance with the requirements set by the ORP Quality Assurance Program Description (MGT-PM-PL-04) current version.

TRAVEL:  Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, events, site visits, or other training requirements.  Travel is coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, is allowed, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.  LOCATION:  Work shall be conducted at or in proximity to Richland, WA 99319

• U.S.  Citizenship Required - You must be a United States Citizen
• Excellent oral and written communication skills (This employer participates in the e-Verify program)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Adobe)
• All ProSidian staff must be determined eligible for a “Facility Access Authorization” (also referred to as an “Employment Authorization”) by the USG’s designated Security Office.
