About the job

Requirements
  • A minimum of five years of related oil and gas industry experience is required; a relevant technical degree may substitute for part of the required experience.
  • Supervisory-level experience is required in drilling operations, intervention or workover operations, wellsite completions or wellsite operations, or as a well control specialist or well control engineer.
  • Possession of, or ability to readily obtain, a valid New Mexico driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
  • Willingness and ability, with College support, to obtain and maintain applicable IADC WellSharp Instructor certifications, which may include Supervisory Drilling, Workover/Completion, and Well Servicing programs.
Responsibilities
  • Teach traditional face-to-face lecture courses and labs.
  • Continuously assess participant mastery of course material and adjust instructional methods as necessary to support understanding and certification achievement.
  • Deliver training at the School of Energy campus and at industry locations throughout the United States as needed.
  • Collaborate with School of Energy personnel and representatives of the applicable accrediting body to review and update curriculum as needed to maintain industry relevance and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Perform related duties.
