Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited nursing program with an associate or bachelor's degree, an accredited medical assisting program with an associate's degree, or an accredited athletic training program with a bachelor's degree.
  • A Certified Medical Assistant certification, Athletic Trainer Certified license, Licensed Practical Nurse license, or Registered Nurse license.
  • Current CPR and Emergency First Aid certifications.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with patient examinations and minor procedures.
  • Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and chief complaints accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Apply and remove orthopedic devices such as splints, braces, and casts under provider supervision.
  • Provide patient education on preoperative and post-operative care and medication instructions.
  • Assist with in-office imaging coordination, including X-rays and MRIs, and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Maintain clean and well-stocked exam rooms and clinical areas.
  • Perform administrative duties including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and managing patient records.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
  • Support surgical scheduling and pre-operative preparation as needed.
  • Make patients feel comfortable during visits, direct patients through the clinic, perform initial assessments and intake, take and record vital signs, interview patients about the reason for visits, provide care under established standards, assist physicians with clinical and administrative duties, and maintain accurate patient records.
