Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and carry out individually designed physical therapy programs to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, or prevent physical dysfunction.
Perform and document an initial examination, evaluate data, identify problems, and determine a diagnosis before intervention.
Evaluate treatment effects at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for re-evaluation in a timely manner.
Review referrals and medical records to help determine diagnosis and required physical therapy treatment.
Test and measure patients’ strength, motor development and function, sensory perception, functional capacity, or respiratory or circulatory efficiency, and record the data.
Perform job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection-control procedures.
Follow applicable Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, fiscal intermediary, insurance provider, and American Medical Association guidelines for delivery of skilled services, required documentation, and billing for medically necessary treatment.
Adhere to the Physical Therapy Statutes established by the Missouri Board of Healing Arts.
