Requirements
  • High School/GED plus 2 years of manufacturing and/or other regulated-environment experience, or an Associate’s Degree plus 6 months of manufacturing and/or other regulated-environment experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Completion of the NC BioWorks Certification Program is preferred.
  • Experience in a regulated industry such as biotechnology or pharmaceuticals is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of and process experience in a current good manufacturing practice manufacturing facility is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and knowledge of electronic systems such as Electronic Batch Records/Manufacturing Execution Systems, DeltaV, and Electronic Quality Systems are preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to work assigned 12-hour shifts, including some holidays, inclement weather, and requested overtime.

Responsibilities
  • Support the facility expansion program and facility startup as part of the manufacturing organization.
  • Support downstream purification operations including column packing, column chromatography, tangential flow filtration, viral filtration, viral inactivation, conjugation, and final fill.
  • Partner across functions to support operational readiness, technology transfer, and ramp-up of manufacturing operations.
  • Support operational readiness and facility startup activities.
  • Participate in training, equipment familiarization, and procedure execution to enable startup.
  • Execute assigned readiness tasks supporting commissioning, qualification, and early manufacturing operations.
  • Follow defined workflows and procedures to support safe and compliant startup activities.
  • Provide operational feedback and escalate issues observed during startup execution.
  • Perform hands-on manufacturing operations including setup, operation, monitoring, cleaning, and sanitization of equipment and assigned areas.
  • Run and monitor critical process tasks according to approved procedures.
  • Perform in-process sampling, operate analytical equipment, and complete Electronic Batch Records.
  • Complete washroom activities for small- to large-scale manufacturing equipment.
  • Identify and escalate operational issues impacting safety, quality, or schedule.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and compliant manufacturing environment.
  • Initiate and document manufacturing-related deviations and quality events as trained.
  • Support investigations and corrective actions under guidance.
