Requirements
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) General Studies credential, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of the education requirement where applicable.
  • Two years of customer service or retail experience in a fast-paced retail environment, or one year of Lowe’s store experience.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule the Merchandising Service team and manage team resources to drive efficient project execution in fulfillment of the overall Merchandising Service strategy.
  • Guide Merchandising Service Associates around project priorities, scheduling, expectations, and needs, including materials, supplies, and time.
  • Deliver onboarding and training, provide on-the-job coaching, and mentor Merchandising Service Associates.
  • Coach Merchandising Service Associates on performance.
  • Create tailored development plans for Merchandising Service Associates by analyzing metrics and individual strengths, weaknesses, and needs.
  • Handle disciplinary actions and proactively partner with the Human Resources business partner.
  • Manage project, travel, display, fixture, and weekly payroll expenses.
  • Identify and resolve project- and store-level issues using available resources.
  • Summarize and communicate project information, updates, and feedback on project execution with store teams, field leaders, and corporate teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, merchandising, and displays for sharing across the district, region, and enterprise as appropriate.
  • Lead the team in merchandising live goods in garden centers.
  • Lead teams ranging from 11 to 21 people.
  • Collaborate with Field Project Managers on large third-party labor projects when needed.
  • Provide SMART customer service through the daily execution of Lowe’s customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Seek out customers to understand their needs and assist in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
  • Listen and respond knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions by taking them to store areas and walking them through projects when necessary.
  • Demonstrate sincere appreciation to customers.
  • Communicate information to customers regarding stock, special-order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information related to Lowe’s programs.
  • Support employees who directly help customers by providing the tools and resources they need.
  • Lead daily price-change execution and audit and update price labels inside and outside the store.
  • Oversee stocking, fronting, and full pack-down of merchandise in assigned areas according to the planogram.
  • Confirm that signage, reorder stickers, pricing, and product information are accurate.
  • Confirm that product displays, resets, and bay-integrity efforts are completed according to Lowe’s specifications, planograms, and merchandising and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with receiving departments in assigned stores to establish or revise the staging process for reset products and product-support materials.
  • Lead buyback-item efforts and ensure items are pulled, prepared, and ready for shipping.
  • Oversee the proper processing of damaged products.
  • Detect common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks and promptly communicate them to management or Asset Protection.
  • Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards and programs, including Zone Recovery, to maintain cleanliness and organization of store and working areas.
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment by conducting daily safety reviews as needed, noting hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing doors and gates.
  • Adhere to safety requirements relevant to regular job duties, including top-stock safety, reinstalling safety cables, using aisle blockers, tether lines on power equipment, spotters, and safety devices.
  • Operate store equipment as needed for the role and department, including Zebra phones, telephones, paging systems, copiers, fax machines, computers, closed-circuit television surveillance systems, key cutters, panel saws, paint mixers, flooring cutters, and compactor balers.
  • Maintain point-of-sale signage, including bin and beam label stock, ensuring all bin locators are placed and price changes are activated.
  • Follow state-specific guidelines on price changes under Pricing Policy SF-06.

  • Experience operating power equipment such as lifts, order pickers, and similar equipment.

Lowe's earnings per share up 5.2% over three years despite revenue shrinking 1% annually

Lowe's Companies shares trade at $198, down 26% over the past year, as the retailer navigates a cautious DIY customer base and weak housing market. Despite revenue shrinking at 1% annually over three years, earnings per share grew at 5.2% through expense discipline and share buybacks. The company generated $3.1bn in free cash flow in fiscal Q2 2026 after $542m in capital expenditures. Online sales grew 15.7%, supported by Mylow, an AI shopping agent whose users convert at triple the rate of other shoppers. Comparable transactions fell 2.1% in the quarter. Management lowered fiscal 2026 sales guidance to approximately $92bn with roughly flat comparable sales and expects Q3 adjusted earnings per share to fall about 7% year-over-year.

Target raises dividend to $1.16, Lowe's to $1.25 as retailers defend payout streaks

Target raised its quarterly dividend to $1.16 from $1.14, whilst Lowe's increased its payout to $1.25 from $1.20. Both retailers reported second-quarter results on 19 August 2026. Target's increase follows a period of flat dividends and comes after a tariff refund boosted quarterly earnings. The company yields 2.8% and paid $518 million in dividends during the quarter. Chief financial officer Jim Lee stated the firm prioritises business investment first, dividends second, and buybacks last. Lowe's generated $3.1 billion in free cash flow against $673 million in dividends. However, the company faces balance sheet challenges, with negative shareholders' equity of $7.44 billion and debt-to-EBITDA of 3.0 times following recent acquisitions. Management aims to reduce leverage to 2.75 times by mid-2027. Lowe's yields 2.4%.

Major US retailers have received over $5 billion in tariff refunds this week alone, with Walmart getting $2.9 billion, Target $994 million, and Home Depot $730 million. The Trump administration is refunding approximately $166 billion in tariff revenue after the Supreme Court struck down its sweeping tariff policy, having returned $100 billion so far. Despite studies showing consumers bore the brunt of initial tariff costs through higher prices, most companies are reinvesting the refunds rather than passing savings to shoppers. Retail executives indicated in earnings calls they plan to put the money back into their businesses. Consumers have filed class-action lawsuits against companies receiving refunds, but none have concluded. Americans have limited recourse to recover funds if companies don't voluntarily lower prices.

Lowe's CEO warns of cautious consumer spending amid macro and geopolitical uncertainty
