Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in customer success, implementation, technical account management, or operations leadership, with ownership of outcomes rather than only relationships.
  • Direct experience in logistics, trucking, third-party logistics, warehousing, yard operations, or industrial field services.
  • Ability to understand yard operations and communicate credibly with terminal managers and vice presidents of operations.
  • Ability to run structured discovery and produce written artifacts, including requirements, decision specifications, and exception matrices, that can be used by engineering.
  • Ability to make configuration and launch decisions that may require declining customer or internal stakeholder requests.
  • Working fluency with operational data, including reading dashboards, identifying trends, and forming hypotheses independently.
  • Willingness to travel 30–40%, including to gravel-lot customer sites in industrial parks.
Responsibilities
  • Own the go-live window, including escalation triage, exception review, and daily configuration tuning with Remote Operations and Engineering.
  • Run the customer hypercare cadence daily during the first week, tapering to weekly while enforcing exit criteria.
  • Own the ongoing customer relationship, including business reviews, escalation management, service-level agreement performance, and renewal.
  • Monitor auto-open rate, escalation volume, and exception patterns for each account.
  • Diagnose whether degrading metrics result from configuration problems, customer process changes, technology issues, or training gaps, and route issues to the appropriate owner with evidence.
  • Translate recurring customer friction into product requirements and represent operational needs in the Outpost Gate Automation roadmap.
  • Identify and qualify expansion opportunities within the installed customer base using utilization, throughput, and customer-stated intent evidence.
  • Identify where a new site diverges from an existing site before onboarding begins.
  • Stay informed during Golden Scale discovery and countersign the handoff packet.
  • Own the account again at go-live for expansion launches.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience launching hardware-plus-software or Internet of Things products into physical operating environments.
  • Familiarity with SQL or business intelligence tools such as Snowflake or Metabase.
  • Experience managing customers through a technology transition that eliminated headcount at their site.

Outpost runs a network of secure, managed parking yards for semi-trucks, acquiring and operating its own real estate to provide standardized facilities with features like fencing, lighting, cameras, and controlled gate access. Its platform lets fleet managers search, book, and manage parking, while drivers gain secure access; a brokerage arm also arranges parking at partner yards. The system uses proprietary hardware, IoT devices, and AI-powered computer vision to track truck and trailer inventory and verify vehicles at entry and exit. The goal is to create a scalable nationwide logistics infrastructure that improves asset utilization, expands geographic reach, and gives trucking operations easy access to secure parking.

What believers are saying

  • Outpost signed nearly 50 new locations in early 2026, accelerating network density.
  • GreenPoint doubled Outpost capital to $1 billion, funding acquisitions through 2026.
  • The platform processes over 3 million annual gate events, proving operational adoption.

What critics are saying

  • Outpost's $1 billion rollout depends on GreenPoint; capital freezes halt acquisitions fast.
  • New Jersey, Miami, and California sites face permitting, integration, and utilization risk in 2026.
  • If fleet bookings soften, Outpost's asset-heavy model turns fixed costs into a balance-sheet trap.

What makes Outpost unique

  • Outpost owns and automates terminals, combining real estate, operations, and gate software.
  • Its May 2026 kiosk deploys in one day and cuts gate costs 70%.
  • March 2026 expansion added Newark, Miami, Stockton, Livermore, and Torrance near freight chokepoints.

Outpost launches second-gen gate automation platform cutting costs by 70% across 50 new US sites

Outpost, a US truck terminal owner and automation company, has launched its second-generation gate automation platform featuring a new kiosk, enhanced machine vision capabilities and improved operational tools. The technology now processes over 3 million gate events annually across Outpost's network and customer sites. The new kiosk can be installed in one day and reduces gate operating costs by up to 70%, replacing manual staffing that typically costs $25,000 or more per gate monthly. Key features include engine-cancelling microphones, integrated multilingual displays, reefer monitor recognition, multi-camera vehicle tracking and advanced seal verification. The platform serves major truckload operators, intermodal companies, cold chain warehousing providers and manufacturers. Outpost has signed contracts for nearly 50 new locations in the first four months of 2026.

Outpost adds 5 US truck terminals to build universal infrastructure for 75% of freight

Outpost, an Austin-based operator of over 30 truck terminals and drop yards across the US, is expanding with five new locations and investing in EV charging infrastructure. The company announced new terminals in Newark, New Jersey, Miami, Florida and three California cities: Stockton, Livermore and Torrance. Co-founder and CEO Trent Cameron says Outpost addresses a unique trucking industry problem: whilst rail, air and port freight have universal infrastructure, trucking—which moves 75% of US goods—relies on fragmented facilities. The company's vertically integrated model combines real estate, parking and terminal technology to provide shared terminals near major markets for fleets of any size. Outpost also announced an investment in EV Realty, which develops commercial fleet EV charging hubs, and currently serves all major autonomous truck operators.

Additional properties include a 7.1-acre Newark site near the Port Newark Container Terminal and a 17-acre Miami facility adjacent to Miami International Airport and PortMiami. The additions are part of Outpost's $1 billion deployment to expand its national network of truck terminals. The company now operates over 30 facilities across the United States.
