Figma provides a web-based design platform that lets individuals and teams create and edit user interfaces, experiences, and graphics in real time. Its core product is a browser-based editor where designers can wireframe, prototype, and iterate on designs, while multiple people can work on the same file at the same time from anywhere. The platform works by hosting design projects in the cloud, syncing changes instantly, and offering features like components, prototyping, and design systems, with a freemium model and paid plans for teams and enterprises. Compared to competitors, Figma is distinguished by its strong emphasis on live collaboration directly in the browser, ease of sharing, and seamless cross-file teamwork without installing software. Its goal is to make design accessible to everyone and to become the central hub where teams collaborate on UI/UX, graphics, and prototypes."} )

What believers are saying

  • Q2 2026 revenue hit $370.1 million, up 48%, with 136% net dollar retention.
  • Over 80% of $10,000-plus ARR customers used AI credits weekly by June 30.
  • September 2026 updates added animated shaders, agent windows, and third-party MCP workflows.

What critics are saying

  • AI monetization remains beta; Figma's Q3 2026 guide slowed to 36% growth.
  • Adobe and Canva commoditize collaboration features, pressuring pricing and seat expansion.
  • If developers standardize on MCP-native tools, Figma becomes a thin interface and loses control.

Adobe invites Figma users to test Project Oasis AI design tool amid growing competition

Adobe has invited designers using Figma and similar tools to test Project Oasis, a web-based graphic-design tool featuring brand-aware AI. The 7 September community invitation seeks feedback under nondisclosure agreement before public launch. Adobe reported fiscal second-quarter revenue of $6.62 billion, up 13% for the period ended 29 May. Its AI-first annualised recurring revenue exceeded $500 million and more than tripled year over year. Figma posted second-quarter revenue up 48% to $370.1 million. Its first full quarter of AI-credit monetisation and 136% net dollar retention suggest existing customers are spending more across its platform. However, GAAP gross margin fell from 89% to 84%. The tool targets brand-identity and marketing workflows, with neither customer wins nor meaningful revenue yet established.

Figma adds animated shaders, third-party AI agent support.

Figma adds animated shaders, third-party AI agent support. Sep 4, 2026 Figma has expanded its AI-powered generative capabilities with new features for custom plugins and shaders, alongside updates that enable third-party agent workflows through its MCP (Model Context Protocol) server integration. The platform announced updates for third-party agent workflows, allowing designers to extend Figma's functionality beyond its native interface. The updates, released in September 2026, build on features initially launched at Config 2026 earlier this year. At Config, Figma launched the ability to build custom generative plugins and shaders by prompting the Figma agent, and the latest release expands these capabilities significantly. Animated and interactive shader capabilities. Designers can now prompt the agent to build a custom shader effect or fill that incorporates motion and is reactive to mouse movements. This represents a significant enhancement over the static shader effects available at the initial launch, enabling more dynamic and responsive design elements directly on the canvas. The platform supports WebGPU shaders directly on the canvas, and users can save and reuse custom effects and fills, or export via MCP to other platforms. This cross-platform capability is particularly relevant for designers working in multi-tool workflows. Community publishing and code access. Figma has opened its generative tools to broader collaboration through community features. Users can now share their generative plugins and shaders with the world by publishing them for others to use on the Figma Community. This democratizes access to custom-built tools and encourages knowledge-sharing among designers. Additionally, users now have publishing capabilities and access to the code behind their generative plugins and shaders, providing transparency and enabling further customization. Enhanced agent workflow features. The latest updates introduce more granular control over AI-assisted design processes. Users have granular control over spacing, type, and layout, with edits stacking in the chat panel so they can review each one before applying it. Designers can mark a spot with annotations and describe intent that's easier to say than to click, like "make this section feel calmer," and the agent makes the change right there. This natural language interface reduces the technical barriers to complex design adjustments. Users can switch device frames as they edit, so designs hold up everywhere, and Edit and Annotate functions are now accessible from the updated toolbar. Desktop app and agent integration. For desktop users, Figma has introduced a new windowing capability. Users can now open the agent chat panel into a new window on the Figma desktop app for both macOS and Windows, and it stays visible when working with other tools or switching tabs. This multi-window support addresses a common workflow challenge, allowing designers to maintain continuous access to AI assistance while navigating different parts of their projects. MCP server and third-party agent workflows. The MCP server integration represents Figma's move toward interoperability with external AI agents. Users can now build with Figma MCP server and Claude Code, suggesting that the platform is positioning itself within a broader ecosystem of AI-assisted design and development tools. While specific technical details about the MCP implementation were not disclosed in the release notes, the integration appears designed to enable workflows where Figma designs can be accessed and manipulated by external AI systems, including Anthropic's Claude. Color variable enhancements. Beyond AI features, Figma has introduced practical improvements to its design systems capabilities. Opacity can be updated at scale in the variables modal and applied on top of any color without detaching. Users can alias opacity while the color stays linked to their library, and set opacity on a color variable using a number variable, scoped specifically for use in color variables. This streamlines the process of managing opacity across disabled states, overlays, and other interface elements. Key facts. * Figma released updates on September 1 and September 3, 2026, expanding generative plugin and shader capabilities * Animated and interactive shaders now support motion and mouse-reactive effects * Custom generative plugins can be published to Figma Community for sharing * MCP server integration enables workflows with third-party AI agents, including Claude Code * Desktop app users can open the agent chat panel in a separate window * Color variable opacity can now be managed at scale without detaching from libraries Sources.

Figma stock jumps 13% as AI agents outpace billing with 50% of large customers using them weekly

Figma stock jumped 13.3% on Thursday, rising from $27.03 to $30.62. The move came alongside gains across application software peers rather than company-specific news. Adobe rose 5.7% and Atlassian climbed 10.2% in the same session. The stock remains about 57% below its 52-week high of $71.26. Figma's third-quarter revenue guidance of $373 million to $375 million represents 36% growth, down from 48% in the second quarter. The guidance excludes revenue from Figma agent, Code Layers, and Figma Make, which remain in beta. Over 50% of paid customers with more than $10,000 in annual recurring revenue were using the Figma agent weekly by July's end. Figma ended the second quarter with $1.7 billion in cash and marketable securities.

Figma stock Price Prediction: Wall Street's $30 target may be too low.

Figma stock Price Prediction: Wall Street's $30 target may be too low. Figma has lost more than half its value since IPO even as revenue growth accelerated, creating a rare tension between a beaten-down chart and fundamentals that are quietly getting stronger. Here is why the setup may be more interesting than... Figma (NYSE:FIG) has been one of the most whiplash-inducing stories in software this year. After IPO'ing to euphoria, the stock is now down 61.26% over the past year and 27.03% year to date, even as revenue growth accelerated to 48% year over year in Q2. Wall Street's consensus target sits at $30.80. I think that number is too conservative. Figma currently trades at $27.27. Our 24/7 Wall St. price target for Figma is $40 over the next 12 months, implying roughly 47% upside. Our research view is constructive, with moderate-to-high confidence given the pace of AI monetization and the fact that the sell-off has compressed the multiple meaningfully. 24/7 Wall St. Price Target summary. | Metric | Value | | Current Price | $27.27 | | 24/7 Wall St. Price Target | $40.00 | | Upside | 46.7% | | Research View | Constructive | | Confidence Level | 70% | How a 48% grower ended up in the bargain bin. Figma's chart tells a story of expectations collision. Shares hit a 52-week high of $72.11 and a low of $16.60 within the same year. Recent price action has been constructive, with FIG up 29.12% over the past month and 4.84% in the last week. In Q2, Figma delivered $370 million in revenue, a net dollar retention rate of 136%, and non-GAAP operating income of $36 million. Management raised the full-year outlook to $1.463 billion to $1.467 billion, an increase of $40 million. The disconnect between fundamentals and price is the setup. Why bulls see a breakout to $50+. The bull thesis is straightforward: Figma is turning into an AI infrastructure story with a design front-end. Approximately 80% of customers with more than $10,000 in ARR were drawing down AI credits weekly, and more than 50% of paid customers with more than $10,000 in ARR were using the Figma agent weekly. Paid customers with over $100,000 in ARR grew 46% year-over-year. CEO Dylan Field said "the opportunity is bigger than even we expected". Non-GAAP gross margin held at 85%, and free cash flow was $53 million for the quarter. If AI credit consumption compounds through 2027 and Figma Agent, Make, and Code Layers transition from beta to paid, a $50 to $55 stock is within reach. Risks worth watching. Figma trades at 11.41x trailing sales and a forward P/E of 93x. Reported EPS is -$4.4, and TTM operating margin is -31.7%. Bulls counter that GAAP results reflect stock-based compensation from a recent IPO and heavy AI investment, while non-GAAP operating margin was 10% in Q2. Act now: the analyst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just named his top 10 AI stocks - and Adobe didn't make the cut. Grab the names FREE today. Competitive pressure from Adobe, Canva, and AI-native coding tools is real. A downside scenario, where AI monetization stalls, points to $22. How Figma compares to Adobe and Atlassian. Adobe (NASDAQ:ADBE | ADBE Price Prediction) is the incumbent competitor and natural valuation anchor. Adobe trades at a forward P/E of 10x and P/S of 4x, but revenue grew just 12.7% last quarter. Figma is growing nearly 4x faster, warranting a premium, but the size of that premium is the debate. Atlassian (NASDAQ:TEAM) is a better growth-oriented comparable. TEAM sports a forward P/E of 32x, a P/S of 6.6x, and revenue growth of 27.6%. Figma grows faster and carries higher gross margin, supporting pricing above TEAM's multiple. On that framing, the 24/7 Wall St. price target of $40 looks reasonable rather than aggressive. | Company | Forward P/E | Revenue Growth YoY | | Figma | 93x | 48% | | Adobe | 10x | 12.7% | | Atlassian | 32x | 27.6% | Where the risk-reward points. The 24/7 Wall St. price target is $40, the research view is constructive, and confidence is 70%. The factor tipping the scale is AI credit consumption, already producing revenue rather than sitting in a roadmap. The bull case rests on whether Figma Agent and Make can compound weekly usage into 2027. The bear case assumes enterprises will cap AI budgets and lean on coding-first tools instead. On balance, the risk-reward at $27.27 favors owners. | Year | 24/7 Wall St. Price Target | | 2026 | $40 | | 2027 | $52 | | 2028 | $64 | | 2029 | $76 | | 2030 | $88 | These projections assume Figma continues executing on AI monetization and sustains 30%-plus revenue growth through 2028. Significant upside or downside could result from acceleration or stalling of Figma Agent adoption and enterprise credit expansion.
