Requirements

  • Maintain the computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
  • Work effectively without intensive supervision, both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all Compass Connections policies and procedures.
  • Receive an annual influenza vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption.
  • Be fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Have one year of related experience and/or training.
  • Hold first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and emergency behavior intervention certifications.
  • Be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Meet all applicable federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards.
  • Monitor staffing assignments to maintain the required staff-to-child ratio at all times.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with personnel on other shifts to promote continuity of care.
  • Model behaviors and social skills consistent with organization and program policies.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise activities for children according to the daily activity schedule.
  • Promote positive interaction among children and encourage responsibility in the program’s daily routine.
  • Provide therapeutic crisis intervention when appropriate.
  • Identify and report maintenance and repair needs to the zone supervisor.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings, team decisions, and operations.
  • Update and maintain records of each child’s clothing and personal items.
  • Schedule air and ground transportation for children when needed.
  • Monitor, coordinate, and delegate daily operations throughout the shift as needed.
  • Maintain position-required documentation and ensure documentation required by zone supervisors and direct-care staff is completed according to contractual, regulatory, and agency requirements.
  • Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the position supervisor.
  • Implement safety protocols, including evacuating children and staff during emergencies.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards, respect agency staff, children, and community members, and comply with the required dress code.
  • Supervise assigned direct-care staff throughout the assigned shift until relieved.
  • Schedule appointments for children and follow up to ensure their essential needs are met.
  • Follow instructions from medical and clinical staff regarding each child and inform the zone supervisor of information affecting the population’s health and well-being.
  • Monitor and supervise children during off-campus activities and outings, providing direction and redirection to ensure safety.
  • Document serious incidents, daily progress, menu changes, and activity changes completely, accurately, and promptly according to agency policies and procedures.
  • Escort children safely to and from designated points as directed by the zone supervisor.
  • Traverse the facility and escort children between locations as needed.
  • Meet all predetermined deadlines required by the program and federal partners.
Desired Qualifications
  • Have a two-year Associate degree from an accredited program or institution, or two or more years of college-level coursework.
  • Have two or more years of related experience and/or training.
