Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalency certificate is required.
  • Six years of experience as a Quality Inspector in a relevant mechanical or electrical area are required.
  • Two years of experience directly related to the contract effort are required.
  • Must be able to obtain the required industry certifications or qualifications within 90 days of the hire date.
  • Must be able to utilize the SolidWorks Inspection Module to complete required inspection tasks and documentation within 90 days of the hire date.
  • Any combination of education and experience may be substituted for the requirements at the recommendation of the hiring manager and approval of the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer.
Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret drawings and industry specifications to develop specific inspection criteria and incorporate these requirements into inspection records in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Perform mechanical inspections of parts and components using height gages, coordinate-measuring machines, calipers, radius gages, and other precision tooling required by the specification.
  • Perform electrical inspections of cables and harnesses to verify proper routing, splicing, crimping, soldering, and termination in accordance with the drawing and SAE AS50881.
  • Complete First Article Inspection documentation in accordance with AS9102.
  • Calibrate tools and jigs required for the operation in accordance with established procedures.
  • Identify incomplete or ambiguous technical data and submit the required Form QA-105 documentation.
  • Identify workmanship issues in accordance with associated industry specifications and the technical data package, and complete required documentation such as Form QA-026 and First Pass Yield records.
  • Ensure the adequacy and completeness of inspection documentation supporting the operation or task performed.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
