Requirements
  • General knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Mature judgment and the ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
  • A valid state driver's license with an excellent driving record, including provision of a current driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in temperature extremes and inclement weather when required.
  • Ability to work variable hours, including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to work around physical hazards, diseases, dust, odors, and elevated noise levels.
  • Ability to perform tasks on uneven, inclined, hard, and carpeted floors, cement surfaces, and elevated levels using ladders.
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods and perform reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and other physical tasks.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders as required.
  • Ability to load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide daily custodial maintenance and operational support for all facilities at the North Island Janitorial contract.
  • Perform custodial duties related to the care, maintenance, and cleaning of assigned buildings and facilities.
  • Keep the supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered.
  • Plan and organize work and meet all deadlines.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms and related fixtures, including drinking fountains, refrigerated water coolers, custodial mop sinks, restroom sinks, urinals, showers, and toilets.
  • Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors.
  • Replenish supplies in restrooms and facilities.
  • Dust high and low areas and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Wash interior and exterior windows, mirrors, and walls, using ladders when required.
  • Empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles.
  • Move and arrange furniture and equipment for cleaning and replacement.
  • Clean Venetian and vertical window blinds as required.
  • Identify and report building maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities.
  • Perform specialized restoration projects on floors, walls, ceilings, furniture, and other items.
  • Complete duties accurately, cost-effectively, and on time.
  • Adhere to contract requirements, CSEL policies, and all safety and health rules and regulations.
  • Report accidents, injuries, near misses, and hazardous situations in a timely manner.
