- Lifeguard certification is required; free certification is available.

- A current American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification is required.
- A current American Red Cross First Aid for the Professional Rescuer certification is required.
- A current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification is required.
- Knowledge of rescue procedures and emergency medical procedures is required.
- Maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, on the deck, and in surrounding areas.
- Ensure the safety of all members during pool operating hours by remaining on deck, actively patrolling the pool area, staying alert, and continuously scanning.
- Enforce all pool rules.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
