Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution, with eligibility for an appropriate certification examination; or an associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Clinical Laboratory Scientist; or graduation from a military science program in health science, biology, chemical science, physical science, or medical technology with the specified certification; or grandfathered Medical Technologist qualification obtained on or before February 28, 1992, with current certification.
  • Certification from an acceptable agency, including ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, or HHS (HEW), as applicable to the qualification pathway.
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical laboratory.
  • Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
  • Must submit to a color-acuity screening test.
Responsibilities
  • Perform the duties of a Medical Technologist II.
  • Provide technical and regulatory oversight of one or more laboratory sections.
