- Provide acute and rehabilitative care for patients with selected disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems.
- Provide direct care to patients with stomas, wounds, fistulas, drains, pressure ulcers, tubes, and incontinence.
- Serve as an educator, consultant, and researcher.
- Guide optimal patient care.
- Membership in the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Society is preferred.
Calvary Hospital provides palliative and hospice care for terminally ill adults, including those with advanced cancer, with inpatient facilities in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens and Home Care and Hospice Services across the greater New York area. Care comes from multidisciplinary teams that offer round-the-clock symptom relief, comfort, and emotional and spiritual support in hospitals and extend that care into patients’ homes through Home Care and Hospice services. Founded in 1899, the hospital is described as an international model for palliative and end-of-life care, guided by the values of compassion, non-abandonment, dignity, and love, with a broad geographic footprint and integrated inpatient and community services. The goal is to improve quality of life for patients and to support families, aiming to be a leading international model for end-of-life care.
