Requirements
  • High school degree and at least 1 year of experience working in a service environment.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and identify root causes of failures.
  • Ability to interpret and follow instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables within well-defined situations.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, schematics, and diagrams necessary for the work.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk regularly and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a service bay environment with exposure to cold, heat, noise, fumes, and dust, and meet the specified vision requirements.
  • Ability to comply with OSHA, ANSI, and other state and federal guidelines.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect and tag returned rental equipment, noting damage and necessary repairs.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and make necessary repairs using repair-tag information and input from the Service Writer and Service Manager.
  • Report repair problems or issues to the Service Manager with detailed descriptions and recommended short-term and long-term solutions.
  • Verify that repairs are fully and properly completed and inspect equipment for additional repairs, functioning safety features, cleanliness, readable decals, and rent-ready condition.
  • Complete all required paperwork, forms, and reports accurately and legibly in a timely manner.
  • Work safely, follow safety rules, keep the shop area clean and organized, and correctly use required safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
  • Complete assigned internal and vendor training.
Desired Qualifications
  • Technician Tier IV: Minimal relevant technician experience, qualification to work on a minimal number of products in scope for the location, engagement primarily in maintenance or basic repairs and diagnostics, and a need for direct supervision and workmanship review.
  • Technician Tier III: Limited relevant technician experience, qualification to work on a moderate number of products in scope for the location, engagement primarily in maintenance or basic repairs and diagnostics, and a need for limited direct supervision and workmanship review.
  • Technician Tier II: Relevant technician experience, qualification to work on an intermediate number of products in scope for the location, engagement primarily in moderately complex maintenance and repair, some exposure to moderate or complex diagnostics, limited direct supervision, and possible basic training or guidance for new technicians.
  • Technician Tier I: Significant relevant technician experience, qualification to work on most or all products in scope for the location, frequent engagement in complex diagnosis and repair, minimal to no supervision, and the ability to train and guide less experienced technicians.
  • Experience working on construction-related equipment.
  • Experience with small engine repair.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and electrical systems.
