Requirements
  • Associate of Arts degree from an accredited Interventional Cardiovascular Technologist program, registration by Cardiovascular Credentialing International, and licensure by the State of Washington as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.
  • Associate of Arts degree from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program, registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and licensure by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist.
Responsibilities
  • Scrub, monitor, and circulate complex interventional cardiology cases.
  • Communicate with physicians and other staff about changes in the patient’s condition, including hemodynamic monitoring and symptomatology.
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities within the department.
  • Perform or support complex coronary procedures including percutaneous coronary intervention, chronic total occlusion, and brachytherapy cases.
  • Perform or support structural heart procedures including transcatheter aortic valve replacement, transcatheter mitral valve replacement, MitraClip, tricuspid clip, left atrial appendage occlusion, and atrial or ventricular septal defect procedures.
  • Perform or support heart failure and transplant procedures including biopsies, right heart catheterization, Impella, TandemHeart, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, and intra-aortic balloon pump procedures.
  • Perform or support adult congenital heart disease procedures.
