Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and hold a current, valid United States driver's license for at least six months.
  • Applicants must be able to become CPR and First Aid certified within two weeks of employment and Medication Administration Plan certified within 150 days of employment.
  • Applicants must successfully complete Safety Care within 90 days.
  • Applicants must successfully pass a CORI, reference, national fingerprinting, and driving record check.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a small group residential setting or an individual living arrangement.
  • Work with the people served, their families, friends, employers, and other support staff to build independence skills or increase quality of life.
  • Administer medication under the Medication Administration Plan.
  • Implement treatment plans.
  • Assist people with activities of daily living, including household chores and cooking.
  • Provide transportation for outings such as shopping and doctor's appointments.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities and/or brain injury is strongly preferred.
  • Strong time management and writing skills.
