Requirements
  • Post-high-school education or vocational training in healthcare, previous work experience in healthcare or customer service, knowledge and understanding of medical terminology, or another combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn other software as needed.
  • Accurate typing at 45 words per minute is highly preferred.
  • Ability to set high standards and provide high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately schedule services according to department protocols and the requirements of assigned areas.
  • Coordinate resources to ensure patients receive an appropriate level of care at every interaction.
  • Follow department policies and procedures while adapting to frequently changing standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain strong quality metrics through department quality-assurance programs and protocols.
  • Communicate professionally, effectively, and clearly in verbal and written form.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy according to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act compliance guidelines.
  • Work efficiently and calmly under stress, during high patient volume, and during periods of additional workload.
  • Collaborate with assigned area leadership and staff to maintain daily operations and complete tasks.
  • Assist with cross-training and onboarding new hires as applicable to assigned areas.
  • Work cooperatively with appropriate departments to ensure all visits are properly scheduled.
  • Monitor access issues with provider schedules that may affect the patient experience.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance according to the department schedule.

Logan Health Shelby receives Cardiac Recognition Award. Logan Health Shelby was recognized recently with the Cardiac Recognition Award, which is sponsored by the Cardiovascular Health Program within the state health department. The Recognition Award singles out critical access hospitals who demonstrate that they have the infrastructure and commitment to provide high quality care for patients with acute coronary syndrome, which includes heart attack. Receiving the Cardiac Recognition confirms Logan Health Shelby has met high standards related to the utilization of evidence-based cardiac order-sets and protocols, provides laboratory services 24/7, has a well thought out transfer protocol and has administrative commitment to treating heart attack patients. This is the 14th year that the Cardiac Recognition Award was presented, and Logan Health Shelby is one of 20 Critical Access Hospitals to qualify for the award. Requirements for the recognition include tracking and reporting key cardiac outcomes, using outcomes data to initiate quality improvement activities and coordinating regular healthcare provider cardiac trainings. Heart disease is a leading cause of death in both Montana and the United States. Last year, over 3,000 Montanans died from the impact of heart disease.
