Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA preferred
  • 6+ years of experience in a revenue accounting role, with 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Large pre-ipo or public company experience is a plus
  • Background in public accounting (Big 4 experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of SOX requirements
  • Thorough understanding of ASC 606 and ASC 340
  • Experience in the technology or SaaS industry is a plus
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and collaborating effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex contracts and financial data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-financial audiences
  • Experience with Netsuite & Zuora, advanced Excel skills, knowledge of SQL are a plus
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the accounting close process, including review and approval of revenue-related journal entries and timely review of reconciliations and flux analysis
  • Review complex revenue contracts and make determinations on revenue recognition approach
  • Partner with Sales, Legal, Finance, Technical Accounting, and Revenue Operations teams to advise on non-standard contract terms and billing arrangements, while helping to develop operational best practices
  • Provide guidance and support to both Finance and business partners on revenue recognition matters, including revenue implications of new business initiatives and contract negotiations
  • Ensure compliance with ASC 606 (or relevant accounting standards) and other regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with external auditors to support annual audit procedures
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy in revenue accounting processes through automation and system enhancements
  • Lead initiatives to streamline workflows, eliminate manual tasks, and improve controls in the revenue recognition process
